Engineering Project Manager, GES Operations EngineeringEngineering Project Manager– responsible for delivering medium to large-scale automation and material-handling projects for Amazon Fulfilment Centers across EMEA.The role includes planning, design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and launch support, while owning safety, budget, and schedule.Key ResponsibilitiesEnd-to-end ownership of medium/large-scale projects (planning, design, procurement, installation, commissioning, qualification, launch support).Dive deep into technical details to provide value engineering and innovative solutions that drive frugality and continuous improvement.Lead technical design reviews and propose solutions for material handling and storage that meet business needs and Amazon design standards.Create, submit, and track CAPEX requests (Capital Planning) to ensure projects stay within budget and deliver maximum value.Assess and communicate project status, drive escalations on risks and delays across multiple teams.Own project budget, provide accurate updates and risk forecasts, and achieve savings while maintaining quality and performance.Assist with equipment specifications and technical support for Procurement, Change Management, and other business partners.Collaborate with internal teams such as Worldwide Engineering, Construction, Operations, Reliability, Maintenance, Procurement, and Change Management.Participate or lead SME and process-improvement teams to create safer, leaner, and more effective delivery processes.May manage contractor teams of up to approximately 100 people.A Day in the LifeYou will work on the delivery of an Amazon Fulfilment Center with a project lifecycle of about a year.Early phases involve design and bidding, primarily from an Amazon office or remotely.During execution you will spend roughly 50 % of your time onsite, with peaks during installation, commissioning, qualification, and post-launch ramp-up.The role is based in Germany and requires 50 % travel within Germany or across EMEA.Basic QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related discipline.Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and subject-matter experts.Proven Project/Program Management experience in a comparable industrial environment.Proficiency with MS Excel, CAD/BIM software, and MS Project.Strong verbal and written communication skills in native language and English.Preferred QualificationsProcess & Quality improvement certifications such as Six Sigma.Project management certifications such as APM.Experience executing new-build construction or operational buildout projects.Ability to lead internal teams and manage vendor relations.Knowledge of automated material-handling systems, packaging technologies, and storage solutions.Previous participation in a new site launch.Fluency in French, Polish, Arabic, Portuguese, Turkish, Afrikaans, or Zulu considered a plus.Amazon is an equal-opportunity employer.We value diversity and are committed to providing a welcoming workforce for all.For accommodations or additional information, please visit#J-*****-Ljbffr
