Founded in **** by a linguist and a computer scientist, we are on a mission to allow everyone to understand and be understood in their own language.We envision a world where people from different cultures can communicate seamlessly, gaining unprecedented access to knowledge, cultural exchange, and opportunity.To make this possible, we combine proprietary translation AI (Lara Translate) with advanced text, audio, and video translation technologies (Matecat, Matesub, and Matedub) and the world's largest network of vetted, native-speaking language professionals.We welcome complex technical challenges from our customers and engineer tailored solutions that often become part of our core products - whether integrated into our enterprise localization platform, the tools designed to support translators, or Lara Translate, our online AI translator for teams and individuals.Everything we build reflects a simple principle: technology should amplify human potential, not replace it.We believe in humans.We're looking for a passionate Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Node.js and Typescript to join our fast-paced and innovative engineering team.In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems to allow an easy and smooth integration of enterprise-grade customers in our translation workflow.If you are passionate about backend development, delivering robust and scalable solutions, and working collaboratively, we want to hear from you.ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement efficient, scalable, and secure integration connectors, mainly, using Typescript and NodeJs.Build and maintain an architecture of technology assets to serve the common task without duplicationBuild high-quality reusable and modular code with a test-oriented approach.Troubleshoot and debug applications.Optimization of the applications for maximum speed and scalability.Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of product owners, designers, developers, and system administrators.Collect technical requirements and collaborate with the customers engineering teamsBlend tech solutions that integrate humans in the loop with AI for translation.Mentor other developers in the team and act as an evangelist of software excellence among the entire engineering organizationRequirementsMaster's degree in Computer Science or SW Engineering courses.5+ years of working experience in SW development teams.Proven experience in developing and maintaining scalable applications (millions of requests).Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and server-side development.Deep Knowledge of Typescript, and NodeJS (minimum 4 years involved in non-trivial projects)Very good knowledge of the REST paradigm in Web APIsVery good knowledge of containerization and container orchestration (Docker, Docker Swarm or Kubernetes)Experience with Relational DBMS ( MySQL )Experience with Git version control system and GitHub code review workflow (Pull Requests)Experience with NoSQL DBMS ( Redis, ElasticSearch )Experience with queues technologies (SQS, RabbitMQ, BullMQ )Proactive, self-driven, and enjoys solving complex problems, not just in the primary area of responsibility but across boundaries.Very good knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken, is a mustHeadquarterTranslated is hosted at Pi Campus, a working environment immersed in nature where 7 luxury villas have been converted into functional offices to foster talent growth.
