Preferred locations: UK, Belgium, Netherlands, ItalyLeonid Group has been retained by a leading industrial company in the utilities/energy sector to identify a European Global Trade Compliance Supervisor.This role is responsible for overseeing import and export compliance across Europe, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations, and supporting the global trade compliance program.QualificationsStrong knowledge of European customs import and export laws and regulations.Familiarity with European antidumping and countervailing duties (ADD/CVD) laws and regulations.Experience with Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), including EUR1 and EUR-MED.Ability to collaborate effectively across internal departments.Capable of representing the company with government agencies and external consultants regarding import/export matters.Proven ability to manage and deliver projects within defined timelines in a cross-functional environment.Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work semi-autonomously.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong PC skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.Bachelor's degree with 4–5 years of related import/export operational and compliance experience.Proficiency in English; additional languages (e.g., French, German, Italian) are a plus.ResponsibilitiesOversee the European portion of the company's import/export program to ensure full compliance with regulations.Liaise with local customs authorities to facilitate smooth movement of goods.Manage daily import/export operations across Europe.Maintain the global product dictionary, including HTS codes, ADD/CVD, ECCN classifications, and material data.Prepare monthly internal customs reports.Analyze daily exceptions to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.Review and maintain EU vendor shipping instructions and customs broker SOPs.Manage export compliance, including export licenses, diversion risk, and export declarations.Participate in projects as needed to support compliance initiatives.Prepare and file post-entry corrections with relevant customs authorities.Review new ADD/CVD cases to determine applicability and maintain records in compliance systems.Provide trade compliance training to business units as necessary.The Leonid Group Corporate Governance is a talent acquisition consultancy that specialises in the placement of Legal, Compliance, Trade Compliance & Ethics professionals on an international scale across the Americas, EMEA and APAC.Legal and compliance are both global, with teams worldwide, and our network reflects this.We work with multinational corporations to help structure their departments with the best people, from the Global Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel to the Compliance Analyst and Trade Compliance Specialist.
