The Italian Institute for Genomic Medicine (IIGM) is a leading research center dedicated to advancing precision medicine through cutting-edge genomics, bioinformatics, and translational research. Posizione The YGL program We look for YGLs at a creative stage in their careers, to help them to fully realise their potential and generate innovation and value through cutting-edge research. Our institutional funds will allow them to develop science based on inspiration, built on high-quality work, rather than fashionable research trends. Young group leaders (YGLs) are the core of IIGM. They are expected to conduct innovative studies in biomedical research, with an emphasis on cancer. YGLs receive a core package, and we expect them after a start-up phase to attract additional external resources. YGLs will devote themselves to shape their own science and scientific career, and contribute to operational and administrative aspects at IIGM. The YGL package Competitive salary with relocation assistance (if coming from outside Italy) 10-years maximum duration staying Corefunding Opportunity to expand through external grantfunding Close links to local Research Institutes and Universities – IRCCS Cancer Center of Candiolo, University of Turin, Politecnico of Turin Access to technology platforms and facilities Access to high-performance computing infrastructure Lab set-up in state-of-the-art space Requisiti Person specification An advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) and experience conducting research in a relevant field is required, with a comproved demonstration of excellence in science. We welcome applications from early-career scientists. Scientific areas of interest Cancer biology is the main focus of the research activity of IIGM. We are looking to both computational and experimental scientists, and welcome scientists bringing interdisciplinary approaches.
