OverviewJoin to apply for the In-Orbit Services Thermal Engineer role at The Exploration Company.Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.RoleWe are seeking a talented Thermal Systems Engineer to help us in our mission by contributing to the development of our future projects.As a Thermal Systems Engineer, you will oversee the thermal architecture, sizing and analysis of a variety of new projects.You will work closely with our mechanical, CAD, and system engineers to assess feasibility and preliminary sizing of the thermal systems of our future vehicles.ResponsibilitiesDetermining the thermal load cases throughout the entire project lifecycleDesigning conceptual and preliminary thermal control systems designs for new space systems, with the right level of complexity depending on the maturity and goals of the studyProviding technical solutions to optimise thermal management, in collaboration with other subsystems (propulsion, avionics, ECLSS...)Effectively communicating and providing recommendations through analyses, preparation, documentation and presentation of technical dataQualificationsAdvanced degree (Master of Science or PhD) in aerospace engineering, heat transfer and fluid mechanics, or another related field5+ years of experience working in space project thermal control design and analysesStrong knowledge of thermal managementGood knowledge in thermal analysisExperience with several thermal software (Thermal Desktop, ESATAN) is appreciatedExperience with programming (Python)Fluent in English.German, French, and Italian are assetsSkills and BehaviorsStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong analysis and problem-solving skillsStrong organizing and prioritization of tasksPositive and flexible attitude to get the job doneDemonstrates behaviors consistent with The Exploration Company's core values of Vision, Competence, Integrity, and PassionWhy you should join usWe're Agile - we make decisions fast whilst keeping our goals and systems in mindWe're Open and Collaborative - we are transparent about risks and obstacles, so that we can cooperate to overcome themWe have a lot of Fun - we refuel our energy knowing we are democratising space.It's a wonderful and rare opportunity, are YOU up for the challenge?The Exploration Company is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.We do not discriminate based on race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status or disability status.Relocation assistance is provided for those willing to relocate including visa sponsorship where applicable.#J-*****-Ljbffr
