Shape a future with purpose at Arup in Milan.Champion sustainable growth by assessing and reducing environmental impact.Arup's purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.We are a multidisciplinary team dedicated to Integrated City Planning, with a strong focus on environmental sustainability.Our work combines innovation, urban design, and environmental management to create more resilient, liveable, and sustainable cities.Our Integrated City Planning team sits at the heart of Arup's commitment to sustainable development.We engineer innovative solutions that minimize environmental impact while creating comfortable and healthy cities for people to live, work, and thrive.The Opportunity We are looking for an Environmental and Territorial Engineer to join our Milan team.The selected candidate will primarily be responsible for: Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA) Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) Integrated Environmental Authorizations (IED) Project sustainability analyses with a focus on traffic, air quality, noise, ecology, and biodiversity, public health As an Engineer at Arup, you will: Perform environmental and territorial impact assessments for infrastructure and development projects, identifying risks, constraints, and opportunities to guide sustainable decision-making.Analyse environmental data, spatial information, and regulatory requirements to develop evidence-based technical reports and recommendations that influence project outcomes.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, authorities, and stakeholders to integrate environmental protection strategies and ensure compliance with national and international standards.Conduct field inspections and site assessments to gather on-site insights, validate environmental conditions, and support the implementation of mitigation and monitoring plans.Does this role inspire you?We're looking for graduates and soon-to-be graduates who is passionate about sustainable development and creating resilient, environmentally responsible communities.We also value: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Environmental and Territorial Engineering or a closely related discipline.Excellent proficiency in Italian, with the ability to communicate confidently and professionally in written and spoken contexts.Fluency in English, enabling effective collaboration in an international and multicultural environment.Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, contributing effectively within collaborative and multidisciplinary project teams.Motivated, proactive mindset, with a willingness to take initiative and tackle new challenges.Preferred Qualifications: Registration with the Professional Order (or eligibility for registration).Experience with GIS tools such as ArcGIS Pro and familiarity with spatial data analysis.Practical exposure through internships or extracurricular activities in the environmental or infrastructure fields.Working knowledge of technical software, including AutoCAD, noise and air quality modelling, and transport modelling.Why Arup?At Arup, we believe in investing in our people and supporting their growth from day one.As a trust-owned company, we're driven by our purpose and values, creating a collaborative and rewarding environment for our employees.Benefits that work for you: Professional Growth
