L2 Maintenance Engineer

DescriptionOn behalf of the Italian subsidiary of the group – SSC Italy – we are helping to expand the team supporting the Galileo Control Centre Italy (GCC-I), in Fucino.We are always seeking passionate individuals with a strong background in space engineering.If you are driven, ambitious, and eager to make a significant impact in the space industry, apply now and embark on an extraordinary space journey with us.RequirementsUniversity degree in relevant disciplines and at least 2 years of working experience, ideally.Strong L2–L3 troubleshooting skills, including incident resolution, root cause analysis, and experience with ticketing tools (such as JIRA, ServiceNow, or Remedy).Candidates should also be familiar with IT systems, including web-based applications and server hardware.Knowledge of scripting and automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell) is required.Experience with Java or C++ for advanced debugging is a plus.A good understanding of network technologies is essential (covering TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and routing/switching).Knowledge of satellite or telecom protocols, as well as Galileo or other navigation ground segments, would be an advantage.Experience in ground system AIV campaigns and ground system operations is highly valued.Candidates should also be comfortable working with development and testing environments, staging systems, CI/CD pipelines, virtualization (VMware, VirtualBox), and containers (Docker, Kubernetes).The role requires knowledge of IT operations frameworks (such as ITIL) and experience in mission-critical environments.Candidates must show the ability to coordinate complex tasks across teams, strictly follow procedures, and still be creative enough to find workarounds if needed.A high level of motivation and curiosity is expected, with interest in learning and working on new challenges.Candidates should also be willing to travel for trainings and workshops.An advanced level of English is mandatory, and at least a basic level of Italian should be learned if not yet mastered.Legal and Security RequirementsApplicants must be legally allowed to work in the EU and hold a European citizenship.Evidence of eligibility will be required from candidates as part of the recruitment process.Copy of passport and degree(s) certificate.Good conduct certificate from the country where currently resident.Furthermore, in view of the nature of the work, all potential employees will undergo stringent reference checks.ResponsibilitiesSupport to AIV campaigns for the Galileo Ground Control Segment.Definition of test documentation (including maintenance of the documentation).Support to the preparation and execution of the Non-Regression / System Validation Test Campaigns.Support OPS/L1 and L3 teams for problem management, system restoration, vulnerability management and handling of security incidents.Provide inputs to Service Asset and Configuration Management activities, including maintaining the configuration via the provided tools.Support all milestone reviews related to the L2/L3 maintenance handover.Support the design of end-to-end integrated maintenance and troubleshooting environments for Galileo systems.Provision of inputs to the release strategy for minor and major evolutions of the GCS infrastructure.Provide Maintenance on-call support as required to support on-site recovery of the Core of Trust (CoT) which may occur outside normal office hours.BenefitsContractCompetitive remuneration package, recognizing the value of your skills and expertise.Unique career opportunities, including the possibility of working in other countries with our SSC Group.Personalized training and development programmes.To be considered for this PositionPrior to ********** please apply via our Job Application form .If not directly interested, feel free to share this Job Vacancy with your friends#J-*****-Ljbffr
