As a purposeful, values-driven brand, we are committed to being a force for good in the world as well, creating the next generation of sustainable luxury for customers, driving industry change and championing our communities.JOB PURPOSEThe Technical Developer oversees the development of new metal hardware for leather goods as an area of excellence for Burberry.The person will manage new development projects with suppliers to ensure that metal hardware meets style, quality, cost and delivery requirements.The person is also responsible for the continuous improvement of metal hardware development procedures and supports suppliers in material and process innovation.RESPONSIBILITIESProvide technical support to design and product development teams: understand creative needs, analyse and interpret MH design, provide technical support, identify critical development issues and propose solutions;Manage the development phase to define requirements, propose existing and innovative solutions, ensure the feasibility and quality of new MH and anticipate the industrialisation timetable from the beginning;Manage technical development in partnership with suppliers: formalise requirements, analyse technical risks of projects and propose measures to mitigate these risks;Establish a strong and collaborative relationship with suppliers to keep up to date and meet material development targets by monitoring supplier performance;Negotiate MH costs using technical specifications;Manage and ensure up-to-date reporting of product technical information;Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, government regulations, restrictions, safety protocols and performance standards relating to MH;Develop strong working relationships with other involved teams.PERSONAL PROFILEProven experience in MH development or similar role;Degree in Materials Technology or Engineering or other relevant field;Good knowledge of AutoCAD, Rhinoceros and MS Office (Excel, Ppt);Strong knowledge of MH design and manufacturing;Fluency in Italian and English is essential;Proven track record of delivering results through project management, working with cross-functional teams;Previous high fashion or luxury brand experience is a plus.FOOTERBurberry is an Equal Opportunities Employer and as such, treats all applications equally and recruits purely on the basis of skills and experience.Posting Notes: Italy || Not Applicable || Florence || INTERNAL MANUFACTURING || BURBERRY MANIFATTURA || n/a ||
