Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivatedSenior Mechanical Architecture Engineerto thrive in a fast-paced environment.The successful candidate will perform a wide range of tasks within the Engineering Department.The position is based inPistoia, Italy.About UsJoin Hitachi Rail to help create a legacy in digital transformation and technology.We operate worldwide, fostering a multicultural, sustainable, and innovative work environment.AccountabilitiesDefine train architecture and transversal performances (weight, gauge, ergonomics).Draft and manage technical specifications, ensuring stakeholder alignment.Develop and maintain layout designs for vehicle seating in compliance with standards.Monitor project KPIs and evaluate design constraints related to Sub-System Breakdown Structure activities.Lead structural engineering activities, including co-design and welding of carbody components.Define mechanical interfaces of the carbody shell and related sub-systems.Manage requirements using tools like DOORS.Required Skills/KnowledgeDegree in Mechanical Engineering.At least 3 years of experience in complex railway projects.Knowledge of standards and regulations for rail vehicle design.Proficiency with CAD tools (Autodesk, CREO 11).Experience with requirements management tools (preferably DOORS).Basic knowledge of electrics and mechanics.Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).Knowledge of mechanical design software (AutoCAD, Creo, Catia).Understanding of engineering processes and railway operations.Ability to work effectively at all organizational levels and contribute constructively.Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for short-term assignments.Desired Skills/KnowledgeIndependent task management and team collaboration skills.Business requirements analysis and problem-solving skills.Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.Strong planning, organization, and adaptability skills.Continuous learning mindset and industry awareness.Strong business acumen and technical skills.Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.Education / QualificationsDegree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.LanguagesProficiency in written and spoken English (B2 level or higher).Thank you for your interest in Hitachi Rail.If your application is of interest, we will contact you.Discover more about us and our latest jobs on our website.We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment.We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.#J-*****-Ljbffr
