Innovation is at the core of what we do.We believe that by removing and reducing the barriers that prevent people from taking their medications, we can help customers conveniently get the medications they need, when they need them and take them as prescribed.We have provided customers with the ability to find transparent and simple pricing, receive 24/7 customer service support, and have their meds delivered to their doorsteps while creating programs and products that embody our mission and position ourselves in becoming the world's safest and fastest online pharmacy.We are looking for a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join us on our journey to make it drastically easier for customers to find, choose, afford, and engage with the services, products, and professionals they need to get and stay healthyAs a Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will play an essential role in empowering our customers to take their medications correctly and achieve better overall wellness.Key Job ResponsibilitiesAssist pharmacist in filling prescription items, as permitted by the state board of pharmacyMaintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules and regulationsWork daily with Leadership to ensure the right medications are put in the right packetsRun automated machinery required to pre-sort and package medicationsFill exception trays with appropriate medicationTransition Amazon Pharmacy orders through different workflow stages from initial dispense through quality controlCount and fill prescription vials and affix labels on bulk prescription itemsPack and ship completed orders including printing and affixing appropriate labels on dispenser, shipping boxesSort and triage the right boxes to ship at the right timeAid the distribution manager and distribution pharmacists with receiving, shipping, counting, and packingClean, and help maintain, equipment and work areasPackage medications for dispensing and for deliveryWork a flexible schedule - shifts will possibly start and end outside of normal business hoursTasks performed may include billing, data entry, obtaining prescriptions and refills, processing denials, transfers and inbound/outbound callsCommunicate with patients, providers, pharmacies and insurance companies by telephone and email to obtain prescriptions, take refill requests and resolve billing issues/questionsEnter patients and order information into the pharmacy systems.Establish and maintain patient profiles, including lists of medications taken by individual patientsProcess and submit prescription insurance claims for our customers along with resolving insurance problems and patient issues that may result from incorrect or incomplete information, therapy changes and pharmacy or shipping errorsKeeping patients informed on the status of their prescription or out of pocket costs in their upcoming shipmentsPerform account adjustments, method of payment, banking and unbilled reconciliationsVerify insurance data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance prior to billing including analyzing and verifying dates of service, quantity, day supply and billed amountsResearch missing and incomplete information resulting in billing errors and denialsComplete prior authorizations with attention to detail and accuracy, prior to sending to the prescriber or Cover My MedsTransfer calls, tickets, claims, or shipments to the pharmacist when necessaryAccept customer and prescription information required to process new and refill prescriptions, including refill authorization from doctor offices where permitted by state lawCollect, organize, and evaluate patient information, while maintaining confidentiality of all information receivedReceive and transcribe English-language prescriptions sent electronically from doctors' offices and external pharmaciesCommunicate with providers to obtain new written English-language prescriptions or refill requests and verify that the information is complete and accurateEnsure compliance with all company procedures, federal/state laws, rules and regulationsIncreasing knowledge and understanding of commonly prescribed medications and their usesCollaborate with other members of the pharmacy team to maintain customer satisfactionPerform other tasks assigned while working in a fast paced environmentPhysical RequirementsDuring shifts last up to 12 hours (standard full-time shifts are 10 hours excluding overtime, flex and part-time shifts may vary)Standing, bending, reaching above the head, kneeling, crouching and/or stretchingLifting and moving products up to 49 lbs in weightManual dexterity of hands and wristsBasic QualificationsActive and unrestricted in-State Board of Pharmacy License (This includes Pharmacy Technician, Trainee, and Assistant Licenses).Additional licenses may be required if domicile state differs from state of employmentNational Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA)High school or equivalent diploma6+ months of experience working with computer and web based toolsExperience multitasking with phone and computer skillsPreferred Qualifications1+ year of phone or customer service experienceExcellent communication skills (spoken and written)Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team memberStrong organization skills and attention to detailExperience navigating and troubleshooting technical issues6+ months of experience working in a pharmacy related roleExperience recognizing and identifying patient medicationsExperience working under pressure in a fast-paced work environment while consistently meeting standards for productivity and qualityAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.If you have a disability and need a workplace accommodation or adjustment during the application and hiring process, including support for the interview or onboarding process, please visit for more information.If the country/region you're applying in isn't listed, please contact your Recruiting Partner.Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.The base pay for this position ranges from $45,240/year in our lowest geographic market up to $64,168/year in our highest geographic market.Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.Amazon is a total compensation company.Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.For more information, please visit .This position will remain posted until filled.Applicants should apply via our internal or external career site.#J-*****-Ljbffr
