Founding Senior Software Engineer – Construction Tech PlatformLocation: Turin, Italy (Hybrid)Compensation: Competitive salary + founder-level equityAbout the CompanyWe have partnered with an early-stage startup based inTurin, on a mission to transform how buildings are designed and delivered.Their platform is redefining collaboration and efficiency in the construction industry, a space ready for true digital disruption.They're backed by experienced founders from design, software, and construction backgrounds, and we're now looking for ourFounding Senior Software Engineerto join them on this journey.This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll workdirectly with the cofounders, shape the product architecture, and lay the groundwork for the engineering culture.If you want ownership, challenge, and the chance to build something truly new, this is it.What You'll DoOwn core product development:Build and optimize a fast, scalable backend and intuitive, high-performing frontend.Design architecture from scratch:Lead system design, database schema modeling, and API architecture.Develop type-safe APIsusingNext.jsandTypeScript, connected toPostgreSQLviaDrizzle ORM.Shape beautiful, reusable UI componentsusingReact,Radix UI,Tailwind CSS, andReact Query.Ship fast and often:Work end-to-end on new features — from concept and prototype to live product.Collaborate directly with the founders:Your technical input will influence the roadmap, business strategy, and hiring as we grow.What We're Looking ForDeep experience withReact (v19),Next.js (App Router), andTailwind CSS.Strong backend knowledge, particularlyPostgreSQLor other relational databases.Familiarity withGit,CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), and cloud infrastructure (Vercel,AWS EC2/S3).A hands-on builder comfortable in ambiguity — you thrive in the zero-to-one phase.3+ years of software engineering experience and/or aComputer Science or similar technical background.Passion for clean, maintainable code, scalability, and product quality.Bonus Points For3D / WebGLexperience (Three.js, Autodesk Viewer).Real-time communicationexperience (WebSocket, Socket.IO, ws).Email serviceintegrations (SendGrid, Resend, Postmark, Nodemailer).Auth & RBAC systems(Clerk, NextAuth).Tech StackFrontend:Next.js App Router, React, React Query, Tailwind CSS, ShadCN, Radix UIBackend:PostgreSQL with Drizzle ORM, React Server Actions3D Engine:Autodesk Viewer, Three.jsDev Tools:GitHub, Vercel, Neon, FigmaWhy Join them:Be a true founder:Build from the ground up and directly shape the technical and product vision.Ownership & growth:Get meaningful equity and grow into a future CTO role.End-to-end impact:Every line of code you write will shape how construction happens in the real world.Tight-knit team:Work closely with experienced founders, not layers of management.Purpose-driven mission:Help digitize one of the most vital — yet least modernized — industries on the planet.Complete our Compensation and Benefits in Niche Tech Industries Survey here:By applying to this role you understand that we may collect your personal data and store and process it on our systems.For more information please see our Privacy Notice
