What you will doIn this role, you will work in the European Engineering Center (EEC) as an integral part of the BAS SW Team helping to build and release software for our commercial products. The EEC is an extension of the Global Controls product organization and is primarily focused on building and sustaining a market-winning portfolio of products for the European market. As a Embedded Linux Software Engineer , you will analyze, specify, design, and develop software for one of the many Johnson Controls solutions, including our flagship brand, Metasys.How you will do itDesign and Implement Software for new and existing Building Automation Products and SolutionsInstall, Test, and Validate product enhancements and resolved defectsProvide support during Alpha and Field Trials within the system lab or on-siteCreate technical documentation and training materialBe the engineering contact and subject matter expert (SME) for the field support center when needed; provide training on new and upcoming products when requiredCoordinate regular Executive project reviews and interface with all levels of leadership with regards to Planning, Scheduling, Organizing, Directing and Execution for their respective Program/ProjectsWork closely with Product Management, Engineering and Supply Chain organizations to develop solutionsEstablish and maintain an effective system of communication throughout the other JCI Engineering centers, the Program Management Organization (PMO) and with StakeholdersFollow all Health & Safety and Environmental requirementsApply, execute and maintain function related quality issues complying with Global Design ProcessWhat we look forBachelor / Master degree in Software Engineering or Computer ScienceProficency expertise in Windows and Linux OSProficiency expertise in .NET, C#, JavaScript (React) for Desktop and Web application development.Technical knwledge in containerization (e.g. dokers)Technical knwledge in database design (MS SQL, PostgreSQL...)Soft skills: analytical, problem-solving attitude, pro-active, flexible and 'open-minded' approach.Dev tools: Visual Code, Visual Studio, GitHub, Jenkins, Jira...Located in Milan or its surroundingsFluent in English and Italian languages (read, spoken, written)From 2 up to 5 years of experience.Location: Cinisello Balsamo (Milan)What we offerImagine a career that perpetually stretches your capabilities.
