Title:Project Development Manager Location:Milan, ItalyAbout Us A leading European clean energy platform is active across multiple markets, developing and delivering integrated renewable energy solutions as both a developer and long-term asset owner. With a strong track record spanning more than a decade, the company has successfully brought several gigawatts of renewable capacity to operation and continues to grow a substantial pipeline of late-stage development projects across Southern and Western Europe, including solar PV, onshore wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).The organisation's business model is firmly focused onproject development , advancing assets through permitting and authorisation to ready-to-build status, while continuing to manage and optimise projects already under development.Construction execution is limited, makingdeep development and permitting expertise essential , particularly within the Italian regulatory environment.Due to continued growth, the team is seeking aProject Development Managerto join its Milan-based office.Roles and Responsibilities:Managing projects through ready-to-build (RTB) status, including oversight of all secondary permits and compliance processes (e.g. verification of compliance and post-authorisation requirements).Coordinating and managing co-development agreements, as well as relationships with external developers, consultants, and engineering partners, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in line with company procedures.Acting as a key point of contact with public authorities, landowners, grid operators, and other local stakeholders, navigating the complexity of the Italian permitting landscape.Leading internal alignment on technical, commercial, and scheduling matters across multiple functions.Monitoring development timelines, identifying risks, and implementing best practices to improve project delivery.Preparing and maintaining structured project reporting and documentation systems.Working closely with internal teams including Legal, Engineering, Grid & Interconnection, Construction, Controlling, and Investment.Supporting the preparation of EPC and O&M contracts from a development and permitting perspective.Assisting investment and M&A teams during due diligence phases, particularly on permitting, land, and authorisation matters.Staying continuously up to date on regional and national regulatory frameworks affecting renewable energy development in Italy.Qualifications and Experience:Degree in Engineering (Environmental, Electrical, Civil) or Architecture.3-10 years of experience in renewable energy project development (development and permitting).Strong, hands-on experience with permitting and authorisation processes for renewable energy projects in Italy - you will only be a part of the development phase.Solid understanding of regional and national planning tools and renewable energy legislation.Knowledge of grid connection procedures and related regulatory frameworks.Experience primarily within solar PV projects is highly desirable; exposure to BESS or other renewable energy is an advantage.Comfortable operating in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment and communicating across cultures.Advanced user of Microsoft Office; practical knowledge of Google Earth; basic familiarity with PVsyst and AutoCAD.Fluent in Italian and English. This role suits someone whowants to remain firmly in the development phase , rather than transitioning into construction-heavy project management. What is on offer?Competitive base salary with a discretionary annual bonus.Private health insurance, fully covered for employees.Meal vouchers..Hybrid working model.Monthly allowance for home office expenses.26 working days of annual leave, in line with Italian standards.A collaborative, international working environment with long-term career development opportunities.
