Location: Milan or Rome – Hybrid (3 days per week in the office)BSQ Talent is partnering with a fast-growing AI scale-up that builds a platform to design, deploy and monitor AI agents for enterprise customers (voice, chat, email, back-office systems).We're helping them hire a Backend Engineer in Italy with a strong backend background and a real interest in LLMs and agentic workflows.What you'll doBuild & ship AI agents for real enterprise use cases on top of the client's AI platformCombine prompts and code: write prompts and implement the surrounding logic in Type Script/Node.js (and/or Go) to guide agents across voice, chat and emailDesign and implement complex integrations: connect agents to external APIs, CRMs, databases, internal tools and cloud services (AWS/Azure)Turn customer workflows into robust agentic flows, combining multiple tools and data sourcesWork closely with Product, Program/Account Management and Customer Success, and when needed directly with enterprise customersDeliver production-ready solutions with proper error handling, logging, monitoring and basic security in placeRequirementsDegree in Computer Science or a related STEM field (or equivalent practical experience)2–6 years of software development experience, ideally backend or backend-leaning full stackStrong hands-on experience with Type Script/Node.js and/or Go in productionSolid understanding of REST/g RPC APIs, networking and authentication (OAuth2, JWT, etc.)Experience integrating complex systems: third-party APIs, internal services, legacy/enterprise systemsFamiliarity with AWS and/or Azure in a real project contextComfortable working with LLMs, prompts and agentic workflows (prompts + Type Script + tools); prior experience with Gen AI/LLM is a strong plusFluent Italian and very good English (international environment)Problem-solving mindset, comfortable working under pressure in a fast-moving, customer-facing setup; startup/scale-up experience is a plusWhat's on offerA key role working on AI agents in production, not just prototypesThe energy of a fast-moving scale-up with real customers and complex problems to solveStrong exposure to agentic architectures, LLMs and enterprise integrationsInternational environment and collaboration with teams across EuropeCompetitive compensation package, aligned with experience and seniority (with the possibility to discuss bonus/equity for more senior profiles)Salary range: €40,000 – €60,000 RAL gross per year, depending on experience and seniorityHybrid setup: based in Milan or Rome, with 3 days per week in the office and 2 days remoteIf you'd like to explore this opportunity, please send your updated CV.
