Research Engineer - AI and Visual Computing Location: Kortrijk, BE Barco designs technology that makes everyday life a little better.Seeing beyond the image, we develop sight, sound, and sharing solutions to help customers work together, share insights, and wow audiences.By unlocking the creative power of technology, we aim to enable "bright outcomes" for our customers.In Barco Labs , skilled experts are exploring new technologies and building first-of-a-kind proof of concepts for our Healthcare, Enterprise and Entertainment divisions or to venture into new markets.We challenge ourselves to stay on top of state-of-the-art technology and priming future product roadmaps by building proof-of-concepts and explore new use cases, together with internal and external stakeholders.Within the Visual Computing AI-driven video enhancement and visualization (e.g. viewpoint interpolation, avatar animation, neural radiance fields) Real-time GPU frameworks (Vulkan, CUDA, WebGPU) and game engines (Unreal, Unity, ThreeJS) Video streaming toolkits Rapid prototyping the full application stack, including hybrid cloud + edge solutions UX research and prototyping Has a hands-on innovation and can-do mindset.Entrepreneurial mindset: from ideation with end-users, over iterative prototyping to early-stage value proposition validation Works thoroughly and can work independently and with great perseverance towards a result that meets the requirements and constraints, that is evaluated and documented.Is pro-active, takes initiative and shows end-to-end problem ownership.Is a loyal team player with good (English) communication skills and willing to travel on occasion.What's in it for you?Drive innovation by exploring new technologies and prototyping new solutions, solving end-user pain points Work for a global technology top employer Appreciate the comfort of our eye-catching headquarters Enjoy continuous training opportunities at our very own Barco University Enjoy a competitive salary package ???
