We transform healthcare experiences through intelligent digital solutions.Tuotempo is the trusted patient engagement platform powering some of Europe and Latin America's leading healthcare institutions.Our innovative CRM system liberates medical professionals from administrative burdens so they can focus on their true passion: delivering exceptional patient care.Our cloud-based platform seamlessly orchestrates the entire patient journey—from initial appointment booking through omnichannel appointment management and extending to comprehensive follow-up care.The result?Streamlined operations for providers and a frictionless experience for patients.Discover how we're reshaping healthcare delivery attuotempo.com ????Embrace flexibility with our remote-first culture: Work entirely remotely from Italy or Spain, or collaborate in-person at our vibrant hubs in Bologna or Barcelona—we believe in empowering you to work where you thriveJob DescriptionWe are seeking a talented Backend Engineer to help us architect and build the next iteration of our AI-powered products.You will drive the innovation of our AI integration and build modern, scalable, real-time architecture, unlocking new capabilities and performances, starting from our conversational AI products.You'll collaborate closely with AI engineers, product managers, and the broader engineering team.ResponsibilitiesArchitect, develop, and maintain scalable, robust backend services, starting from our voice and chat AI applications.Experiment with new technologies to achieve real-time and seamless integrations, implementing POCs to try the latest trends in AI environment, partnering with AI/LLM engineers.Integrate 3rd party API integration such as Twilio (voice), WhatsApp, ElevenLabs, OpenAI and others.Implement real-time communication features (websockets, streaming), conversation architectures, and advanced voice capabilities.Design, build, maintain, and improve multi-agent orchestration frameworks for AI-powered conversations.Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines, ensure robust monitoring, logging, and operational support.Write clear documentation and support knowledge transfer within the team.What to Expect in Your Journey With UsYour First Week:Participate in onboarding sessionsStart exploring our product and familiarize yourself with the teamYour First Month:Gain familiarity with our workflows and processesTackle and resolve support ticketsDevelop, test, and deploy your first feature to productionMonitor the feature's performance and impactAfter Three Months:Achieve deep understanding of our AI system integrationDeliver three to five new features to productionIdentify opportunities for product improvements and have some of your proposals scheduled for upcoming development cyclesAfter Six Months:Collaborate closely with our AI/LLM engineering teamResearch and assess integration of new frameworks and ideas into our architectureBuild and present proof of concepts (POCs) to demonstrate the potential impact of adopting this new technologyQualificationsMust-have:3+ years of experience in OOP Backend EngineeringProven skills in building real-time APIs (websockets, streaming, etc.) and familiarity with async programmingHands-on experience integrating LLMs (preferablyOpenAI), knowledge of MCP and exposure to multi-agent architecturesExperience integrating with third party communications APIs.Previous experience with Twilio and/or Whatsapp is highly desirableExperience with database technologies (SQL and NoSQL), caching techniques and performance tuningExperience with automated testing tools at various levels (unit testing, integration testing, e2e testing)Strong communication and collaboration skillsNice-to-have:Experience working with containerization (Docker) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).Experience with conversational AI frameworks (chatbot, voice assistant) and with AI/ML frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph)Experience integrating with 3rd party communications APIs.Previous experience with Twilio and/or Whatsapp is highly desirable.Previous work migrating legacy systems to modern stacks.Experience with real-time speech processing, TTS/STT, and telephony systems and PBXs (Asterisk, FreePBX, etc.)Additional Information?
