Sr. Battery System Engineer

As a Battery System Engineer, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, and design innovative consumer product.You will work closely with an internal interdisciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition and execution.You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.In this role, you will:Lead the design, development, and delivery of Li-ion battery system per performance and safety requirementsDrive battery development from NPI through mass productionResearch and evaluate emerging battery technologiesCollaborate with product teams to define battery specificationsDesign battery protection circuit and pack design for NPI programs include schematic design, and component selectionDevelop and review battery pack schematics, BOMs and layout to meet design requirementsConduct system and design reviews, failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA), and risk assessmentsAnalyze and resolve battery-related issues in production and fieldPerform battery safety assessment and design for safetySupport battery certification processes (CTIA/IEEE****)Manage and coordinate with CMs (contract manufacturers) on battery development for NPI programsBuild and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partnersBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or equivalentExperience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures5+ years of experience with battery technology developmentExperience with designing and qualifying battery componentsExcellent English communication skills (written and verbal)Experience in manage CM resources on NPI programs and build relationship with CMPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent preferredStrong EE fundamentals in electronic circuit design/development with microcontroller-based embedded systems7+ years experience with battery cell chemistry and platform design7+ years experience with battery protection and management systems including protection ICs, Chargers, and Fuel gauge7+ years of experience with battery product development in high volume consumer battery e.g. Cell phone/Tablet/E-reader/wearablesKnowledge of embedded software/firmware integrationDemonstrated experience in cross-cultural team leadershipStrong project management skills with experience in global team environmentsOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.If you have a disability and need a workplace accommodation or adjustment during the application and hiring process, including support for the interview or onboarding process, please visit for more information.If the country/region you're applying in isn't listed, please contact your Recruiting Partner.Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.#J-*****-Ljbffr
