capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively.In this role, you'll join Amazon Leo's Structural Integrity and Analysis team as a Liaison Engineer to innovate and solve engineering issues that arise during Amazon Leo production operations leading to every flight of our constellation of satellites.You will be working on the shop floor alongside Manufacturing and Quality teams to develop engineering dispositions related to non-conformances.You will work hard, have fun, and make historyThis Liaison Engineer must have Material Review Board (MRB) experience in aerospace programs, and must be able to understand the balance between engineering judgment versus analysis rigor and when each is appropriate.Key Job ResponsibilitiesWork 2nd shift, 4:00pm–2:00am, 4 days a week, front half Sunday through Wednesday.Review and disposition non-conformance events of the spacecraft and its ground support equipment that may occur in all phases of the Amazon Leo operations: procurement, storage, handling, manufacturing, assembly, testing, transportation, final integration, launch and orbital operations.Develop standard repairs, rework procedures, propose design for manufacturing (DFM) improvements, improved processes and work instructions.Document static, dynamic and fatigue stress analyses when needed to support dispositions, interpreting established structural analysis reports.Develop analysis methods to address common structural non-conformances.Work with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering experts to provide root cause failure analyses.Interact with internal customers, external customers, and suppliers.A Day in the LifeThis Liaison / MRB Engineer will be providing engineering support to resolve engineering issues that arise during manufacturing and assembly processes, quality inspection and acceptance tests, through the application of engineering and design principles, consulting the engineering development teams as needed.About the TeamThe Structural Material Review Board team is part of the Amazon Leo Structural Integrity and Analysis teams (Structural Analysis, Loads and Dynamics, Materials and Processes and Reliability) that is ultimately responsible for integrity of not only the spacecraft but all other commodities supporting the program, inside and outside of the Mechanical Engineering group.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree or above in engineering or equivalent1+ years of demonstrated experience in a Liaison Engineer / Material Review Board (MRB) role with aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structuresPreferred QualificationsExperience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to productionExperience with the project management of technical projectsStrong fundamentals in engineering fundamentals (statics, dynamics, modal, frequency response, random vibration, sine and acoustic analyses / tests)Experience with fatigue and fracture analysesKnowledge of or experience with spacecraft technology and related primary, secondary and tertiary structuresFamiliarity with Manufacturing Execution System (MES)Strong understanding or Geometric Dimensioning & TolerancingStrong understanding of ANSI Y14.5M-**** (drawing interpretation)Experience with Siemens Products (Teamcenter, NX, NX Nastran)Amazon is an equal
