CompanyProgress Rail Signaling Spa, founded in **** in Pistoia, Italy, is a leader in railway infrastructure solutions.The company offers power supply units, signalling systems with LED technology, Automatic Train Protection Systems, and ERTMS subsystems.Offices are located in Pistoia, Roma, Genova, and Bologna.Job PurposeThe Software Designer / Software Engineer develops safety-critical software for automated traffic control systems.The role requires analyzing requirements, designing solutions, testing, deploying, and maintaining high-quality software throughout the entire development lifecycle.ResponsibilitiesImprove system quality by identifying issues and common patterns, and develop standard operating procedures.Follow CENELEC prescriptions for safety system development (SIL 4) per EN ************* standards.Enhance applications by identifying improvement opportunities, designing, and implementing systems.Maintain and improve existing codebases and conduct peer-review code changes.Liaise with colleagues to implement technical designs.Investigate and adopt new technologies where relevant.Write reports and present findings to managers and colleagues.QualificationsConsistent professional experience in a similar role within multinational industrial contexts (transportation, railway, signalling).Experience with high-level programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and others.A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent related fields.A passion for solving problems and providing workable solutions.Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.Strong analytical and reasoning skills with an ability to visualize processes and outcomes.Proficiency in troubleshooting software issues and debugging large codebases.Outstanding communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.Good English knowledge (B2) is required.BenefitsContemporary work-life balance policies.Training programs.Working With UsProgress Rail Signaling invests in the health and well-being of its workforce, provides training and rewarding talent, and develops leaders at all levels to bring out the best in each other.EEO StatementProgress Rail Signaling is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, protected veteran status or other characteristics protected by law.#J-*****-Ljbffr
