Employment Opportunities Designed to Help Us Collaborate in CreationPost Doc Research Scholar (Kubasiak Lab)Thank you for your interest in Loyola University Chicago.To view open positions, please enter your search criteria below.You may view all open positions by not specifying any search criteria and selecting the "Search" button.Bookmark this Posting Print Preview |Apply for this JobPosition DetailsJob TitlePost-Doctoral Research PositionPosition Number*******Job CategoryUniversity StaffJob TypeFull-TimeFLSA StatusExemptCampusMaywood-Health SciencesDepartment NameSURGERYLocation CodeSURGERY ******A)Is this split and/or fully grant funded?YesPosition SummaryThe laboratory of Dr. John Kubasiak at Loyola University Chicago's Burn Shock Trauma Research Institute (BSTRI) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team studying the mechanisms of vascular dysfunction, endothelial injury, and immune dysregulation following severe burn and critical illness.This position is supported by a recently awarded NIH R35 grant, providing long-term support for mechanistic and translational investigations centered on angiopoietin/Tie2 signaling, microvascular repair, and host response after injury.Research Focus & TechniquesThe successful candidate will lead and contribute to projects using cutting-edge molecular, cellular, and spatial profiling approaches to dissect vascular and immune signaling across injury models.Key technologies and methodologies include:Single-cell RNA-seq/CITE-seq, bulk RNA profiling, and spatial transcriptomics and proteomicsqPCR and flow cytometryCell culture, ELISAs, and murine experimentation (burn, infection, and resuscitation models)Histology, immunofluorescence, and biomarker quantificationTranslational science platforms including organ-on-chip, bioreactor systems, and bioinformatics workflows for high-dimensional data integrationKey ResponsibilitiesDesign and perform independent and collaborative experiments in vascular biology, inflammation, and endothelial signaling.Analyze high-dimensional data from single-cell and spatial platforms in coordination with BSTRI's bioinformatics core.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across BSTRI, including groups focused on resuscitation, regenerative medicine, and host–pathogen interactions.Present findings at national conferences and contribute to manuscript and grant preparation.Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Education and /or Work ExperiencePhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree in biomedical sciences (e.g., immunology, vascular biology, molecular biology, physiology).QualificationsPhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree in biomedical sciences (e.g., immunology, vascular biology, molecular biology, physiology).Demonstrated proficiency in molecular and cell biology techniques;
