Construction Safety Engineer

RINA is currently recruiting for a Construction Safety Engineer to join its office in Genoa or Naples or Milan, Italy within the Civil Engineering Division.MissionThe role focuses on ensuring the safety of construction operations in the infrastructure environment (e.g., construction site safety processes, procedures, equipment, workers, etc.) in cooperation with the Principal Engineer.Key AccountabilitiesIdentify, assess and mitigate safety construction risks, ensuring that all projects comply with relevant safety regulations and industry standards.Ensure that all construction activities comply with the applicable local, state, and/or federal safety regulations, as well as company safety policies and procedures.Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and unsafe conditions; develop and drive the implementation of corrective actions as needed, to assure compliance with safety and health program requirements; prepare technical reports of inspection findings; and develop corrective actions.Assist in the development of project-specific safety plans, risk assessments, and method statements.Conduct thorough investigations of accidents and near misses, report findings, and recommend preventive measures to avoid recurrence.Verify safety training for construction personnel, subcontractors, and other stakeholders as required.Verify or develop emergency response plans for each construction site, ensuring that all personnel are aware of procedures.Perform or verify risk assessments for various construction activities and propose control measures to mitigate potential risks.Verify the proper use, maintenance, and availability of safety equipment and personal protective gear.Provide direct day-to-day support and oversight of project elements.Team-work and assist engineers or engineering teams on construction sites.Develop project schedules and deliverable timelines under the supervision of more experienced engineers.Prepare or verify technical deliverables (technical reports, Health Safety Plan, Safety and Coordination Plan, project performance documentation, engineering drawings, etc.).Prepare progress technical reports.Be aware and understand the Quality Policy and ensure that all assigned activities are executed in accordance with the RINA QMS.EducationBachelor's Degree in Construction and Environment or Civil Engineering.QualificationsProven experience in construction safety management, with a track record of identifying, assessing, and mitigating safety risks on construction sites; experience in developing and implementing safety programs and conducting safety training is required.Thorough understanding of relevant safety regulations and industry standards such as OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, etc.; strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and equipment; familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and emergency response procedures is essential.English, good level in speaking, listening, and writing.CompetenciesAddress the way – Have a big picture of different situations and reinterpret it in a perspective way.Build network – Forge trust relationships across departments and outside the organization.Client intimacy – Embrace internal and external client needs, expectations, and requirements to ensure maximum satisfaction.Earn trust – Take everyone's opinion into account and remain open to diversity.Make effective decisions – Structure activities according to priorities, actions, resources, and constraints.Manage emotions – Recognise one's and other's emotions and express and regulate one's reactions.Pre-ioneer change – Actively embrace change and benefit from the new circumstances.Promote sustainable development – Promote commitment by keeping promises as a role model.Think forward – Capitalise on experiences and translate them into action plans for the future.Seniority levelAssociateEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionManagement and ManufacturingIndustriesMechanical or Industrial Engineering, Environmental Services, and Information Technology & ServicesAt RINA, we endeavor to create a work environment where every single person is valued and encouraged to develop new ideas.We provide equal employment opportunities and are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels respected and safe from discrimination or harassment of any kind.We are also compliant to the Italian Law n.*****.#J-*****-Ljbffr
