Position: Network Technician II – Amazon Web Services (AWS) Location: Philadelphia Region, Pennsylvania (covers all sites in and outside the perimeter; travel required up to 60% of time). Overview We are looking for a Network Technician to join our growing infrastructure operations team. The role focuses on capacity scaling for several data center locations, supporting day-to-day network capacity management, and assisting with the development and automation of our next-generation networks. Key Responsibilities Build out first-level router aggregates and console network for new rooms, and support network scaling projects. Manage work and priorities through a ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects. Collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles. Troubleshoot networking, routing, and inter-connectivity issues, including device configuration and low-level application interaction. Support cabling infrastructure connectivity issues (patch panels, patch cords). Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking for new equipment. Participate in migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware. Assist in moving, lifting computer equipment up to 50 lb and operate within physical requirements. Day in the Life Provide first-level networking devices to serve customer racks—track rack intake and delivery, request rack space, power, cooling, and partner with engineers for configuration and troubleshooting under SLA. Perform console and room builds providing additional capacity for customer racks. Work with ID-Scaling peers to build higher-level networking devices. Basic Qualifications 1 year of computer networking experience. 1 year of Linux operating system experience. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience troubleshooting computer hardware. Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 lb (or 50 lb as required). Preferred Qualifications Experience working in cramped or elevated spaces while adhering to health & safety guidelines. Customer-facing problem resolution experience and ability to work under pressure. Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system. Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies. Experience in a data center environment (racking/stacking, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment). Compensation The base pay for this position ranges from $55,900/year to $125,100/year depending on geographic market. Additional compensation may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and other benefits.
