A Researcher in the field of Secure Software Engineering for the Cybersecurity CenterPart of the FBK Cyber Security Centre, the SaFEWaRe (Secure Code Lifecycle for Applications and Networking) Unit focuses on enhancing software security across its lifecycle.The unit integrates automated cyber-risk assessment with trust-management techniques, aiming to produce operational recommendations for ICT solution designers, developers and administrators.The position is situated within the IPCEI NEXT GENERATION CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE AND SERVICES (CIS) project – 8RA – and the FBK CAITE project, which together pursue resilient, scalable cloud-edge continuum infrastructure and secure, privacy-enhancing edge AI services.Job DescriptionThe selected candidate will contribute to research and development of tools and techniques that enable software developers to produce secure code in compliance with regulatory mandates such as NIS2, EU AI Act, GDPR and ISO standards.Key responsibilities:Carry out applied research on Secure Software Engineering and Software Regulatory Compliance.Collaborate with academic and industrial partners on national and international initiatives.Contribute to scientific publications, dissemination activities and project proposals.Supervise and mentor students during internships and thesis projects.Job RequirementsPhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.Strong understanding of secure coding practices and principles (e.g., OWASP Top 10).Familiarity with secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) techniques.Solid experience with AI/ML concepts, algorithms and libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).Familiarity with cloud architecture principles, scalability and security best practices; experience with Docker, Kubernetes.Ability to write scientific articles and project proposals.English language proficiency at least level B2 (verified by interview).Curiosity, willingness to learn, independent and team working skills.Strong communication and relational skills; orientation to results, determination and problem-solving aptitude.Positive evaluation factors:Understanding of regulatory frameworks (NIS2, EU AI Act, GDPR).Experience with operational fulfillment of cybersecurity requirements.Knowledge of Italian (oral and written).EmploymentType of contract: fixed-term contractWorking hours: full-time (38 h per week)Start date: preferably February ****Duration: 24 monthsBenefitsFlexi-time, company-subsidised cafeteria or meal vouchers, internal car park, visa support for research accommodation, supplementary pension (Resaver, Laborfonds) and health fund (Sanifonds), family-work balance, free training courses, banking support, public transport discount, sports and language course fees, counseling and psychological support.ApplicationSubmit your application via the online form ( ).Attach in PDF format:Detailed CV, including relevant academic information such as a list of selected publications and a link to an updated academic profile.Cover letter explaining why you are suitable for this position.#J-*****-Ljbffr
