Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engineering OperationsAWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running.We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we're looking for talented people who want to help.You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.Key Job ResponsibilitiesSafety– Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world-class safety culture.As a facility owner team, ensure remediation of safety risks/issues in conjunction with other teams.Own the safety initiatives and projects to foster a strong safety culture.Engineering & Facility Operations and Maintenance– Operational experience and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment, including UPSs, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches, Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC, Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives, and Transformers.• Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA's)• Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)• Supervise contractor or Engineering Operations Technicians to ensure proper operation and maintenance of all facility equipment.• Drive continuous improvement efforts on infrastructure through standardization of procedures and policies, while delivering performance against agreed metrics.• Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians and assist in recruiting efforts.• Lead the root cause analysis for operational issues, and conduct meetings with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to finalize mitigation strategies.Physical RequirementsManual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations).Ability to work shifts (morning, late, and night).On-call rotation reaction to off-duty emergency calls.Work at heights and from ladders;
