OverviewExpert Embedded Software Engineer - Control RoomsLocation: Kortrijk, BEJoin Barco Control Rooms and Shape the Future of Mission Critical Visualization.At Barco, our purpose is simple yet powerful:enabling bright outcomes.In Control Rooms, we empower operators around the world, from security operations centres to traffic management hubs, energy and utility networks, and beyond, to make informed, high stakes decisions with confidence.AsExpert Embedded Software Engineer, you'll help architect and deliver the next generation ofsecure, high performance visualization and video wall solutionspowering the world's most critical environments.You'll play a pivotal technical role within a team known for impactful innovation, customer centricity, and winning collaboration, all core Barco values.What You Will Work OnYou will contribute to Barco CTRL, our scalable software platform that simplifies control room workflows, deployment, and serviceability, while maintaining the highest standards of cybersecurity.CTRL enables secure access to sources from any location and interaction with content on any video wall or operator desk.In this role, you will:Focus on the low level visualization layer powering dedicated embedded devices.Ensure seamless hardware and software integration across Linux based systems, optimizing performance, reliability, and security.Refactor and maintain shared components across the CTRL stack, reducing technical debt and improving maintainability.Use telemetry and data insights to debug, analyze, and optimize performance across the stack, while contributing to the evolution of our telemetry framework.Lead AccountabilitiesLead and oversee the strategic design and development of complex engineering projects.Conduct advanced research to support product requirements and architectural choices.Prepare and review technical documentation, design specifications, and reports.Collaborate cross functionally to align product vision with implementation.Facilitate project meetings and guide critical technical decisions.Perform rigorous testing and validation to ensure quality and compliance.Mentor engineers across levels and foster engineering excellence.Drive innovation, process improvements, and platform sustainability.Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and, when applicable, customers.Skills We're Looking ForStrong expertise in system level design and engineering principles.Proficiency in C, C++ and Python.Experience building solutions onLinuxplatforms.Knowledge ofmultimedia frameworks(e.g. GStreamer) and codecs.Experience writing USB or other low level device drivers.Hands on experience with embedded systems.Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem solving skills.Strong communication and cross team collaboration abilities.Passion for improving processes, tools, and developer experience.Your BackgroundBachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in software or embedded engineering.What We Offer YouHybrid working model, with flexible working hours and a people first culture.Learning & development through Barco University.An international, collaborative team recognized for innovation and impact.Competitive salary package, fringe benefits including meal vouchers, hospital insurance, and a group insurance plan.Company car or mobility budget.Not sure if you tick all the boxes?Apply anywayWe know the perfect candidate doesn't exist.If this role energizes you and you believe you can contribute to Barco Control Rooms, we'd love to hear from you.???
