Research contract holders - Agricultural, food and environmental microbiology (Dr. Brusetti, Lorenzo)Deadline for sending applications and publications:at 12:00 PM (noon)Number applications:1Description of the research activity: The activities carried out by the candidate concern the microbiological study of the microbiota and microbiome associated with forest peatland samples in South Tyrol and in forests of partner countries of the project.The aim is to describe taxonomic and functional diversity, with particular focus on biogeochemical cycles, resistance genes to heavy metals and antibiotics, as well as to establish their potential transmissibility.The work includes both strain isolation methodologies with chromosomal and plasmid sequencing and annotation, and metagenomic analyses with reconstruction of community metabolic pathways.The candidate will be required to characterize and quantify genes related to the main biogeochemical cycles and resistance, and to correlate the data with hydrochemical and forest parameters.The candidate will also be responsible for managing the entire experimental setup, including in situ sample collection and project coordination with the project partners.#J-*****-Ljbffr
