Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains.Serving three primary markets – passenger vehicle, commercial truck, and off-highway equipment – Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.Position SummaryWe are looking for talented and motivatedSystem Engineerto join our R&D department inArco (TN)location.The System Engineer will develop solutions for Dana Transmissions and Customer applications, leveraging on electric, hydraulic, mechanics, software and electronics knowledges.You will work within a high-motivated and multidisciplinary team operating in a global environment suitable to stimulate skills and competences for a professional growth.Creativity, innovation, curiosity and accountability are the core team' foundations to develop systems addressing OEM vehicles requirements.The System Engineer will report to the Lead Engineer for HVT Transmission Systems and will support project developments also coordinating activities among different teams.Main opportunities and challenges:System Engineer shall be part of multi disciplinary team able to transform both internal and external stakeholders' needs in solutions' value.This role will offer various opportunities and challenges in the venture-edge technologies within off-highway context.Main ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the translation of customer needs into system requirements, to be decomposed into requirements and specifications for each subsystem and technical domain, till the definition of component, subsystem and system specification.Responsible for the coordination and execution of integration and validation activities, leveraging model-based system engineering methodology, to assess system performances and functions.The role includes coding for data analysis, and problem-solving activities.Responsible for control system development using a model-based approach with Simulink (design, simulation and prototyping).The role requires the ability to understand and analyze model-based software implementations/architecture.Responsible for executing and promoting engineering activities to develop required systems to meet the top-level performance, durability, reliability and cost targets, including multi-domain physical systems modeling and simulation.The System Engineer will contribute during the full development process of new products and systems, from concept development and feasibility, through design and validation activities and programs, prototyping till production release and implementation.The candidate will work in cooperation with other functions, supplier, product and system verification and validation engineers, manufacturing/process/quality engineers, purchasing, analyst to assure the product/system launch and implement cost reduction, process and product/systems improvements.Finally, the candidate will support and manage technical communications and professional presentations to the customers.Job Position RequirementsEducation: University master degree - Mechatronics, Mechanics, Automotive, AerospaceProfessional background1-3 years of experienceSystem Engineering (avoid IT system engineer)Application Engineer (electric, mechatronics, hydraulics)Control/Automation/Mechatronics EngineerExperience in the development of powertrain systems will be a plusProject Development Process (Stage Gate)Hard SkillsEssential:Functional Safety knowledge is not mandatory but considered as a plus to support the definition and management of the functional safety process in accordance with the Safety Standards (ISO*****, ISO *****, ISO *****, ISO *****).EnglishWindows OS, Microsoft Office, InternetMechatronics basis (mechanics, hydraulics, electric, electronics)Matlab/SimulinkConsidered as a plus:Modelling and Simulation Simscape/AmesimSiemens PolarionDFMEA/SFMEAOff-Highway vehicle applicationsCANalyzer and Dspace ControldeskCAD tools (PTC Creo)PLM (TeamCenter)Soft SkillsTeam workingAble to manage prioritiesResult orientedContinuous improvement orientedAccountable and proactive, with high interpersonal, communication and organization skilsAbility to build abstractionActive listeningTeam building"If you are not contacted within 60 days after your application, the search should be considered filled.
