Staff Engineer Compound Technology Consumer (m/f/d)Join to apply for the Staff Engineer Compound Technology Consumer (m/f/d) role at Goodyear.Primary PurposeThe Staff Engineer Compound Technology Consumer (m/f/d) focuses on utilizing the right processes & tools to effectively develop and maintain our compound line-up portfolio for Passenger Radial and Light Truck Radial tire lines.ResponsibilitiesTranslate product performance requirements into chemical and physical property requirements and develop tire compounds that demonstrate high performance.Own technical knowledge around Compound Development (crown and casing) and reinforce components.Execute Compound Development projects across cross-functional teams to deliver new technologies and capabilities supporting future Global Product and Technology development needs.Provide support to Product Development teams for material benchmarking, compound choices, root cause analysis.Support tire plants during industrialization to deliver to global/regional business.Technical DevelopmentDevelop new compound formulations/tune existing ones and support Quality with industrialization along with EMEA Product Development roadmap for optimal performance.Follow Global Technology GIR process, leverage modeling tools, execute lab studies, assist plant trials, prepare technical content, execute reviews.Interact with functional expert groups.Product DevelopmentProvide compound/component recommendations during all product development phases.Assist in troubleshooting/root cause analysis in materials area.Contribute to feasibility studies and DFMEA/PFMEA sessions.Support product industrialization and ramp up.Drive support on product maintenance/claims.Functional & Plant SupportMaintain functional guidelines, share knowledge, stay up to date on external knowledge.Assist plants and product development team during first compound industrialization, manage material testing, trial execution, documentation, release documentation.Partner with operations for business continuity and plant support requests.How (Leadership/Behavior)Technical proficiency, coaching on evolving technologies.Decision making/problem solving, coach others.Communication, plan and lead multiregional meetings.Project management, develop solutions to risks, drive new methods.Education & CertificationsBachelors or master's in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or Biology is required.PhD in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or Biology is desired.ExperienceStructure/property relationships in viscoelastic materials.Rubber compound analytical data interpretation.Tire plant experience in mixing/component preparation and tire production processes.Proficiency in statistical design and analysis of data.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesPolymers, fillers, reinforced composites knowledge.Elastomeric formulations scale-up experience.Multidisciplinary team collaboration.Exceptional communication and technical documentation.Dynamic and collaborative spirit.Ability to travel (10%) within Europe.Fluency in English.Goodyear is an equal employment opportunity employer.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to any characteristic protected by law.#J-*****-Ljbffr
