LASERCOMM SYSTEM ENGINEER – ABOUT THE ROLEWe craft cutting-edge mechanical engineering solutions, pushing the boundaries of innovation for both ground and space-based optical applications.Our expertise merges precision with creativity, delivering breakthrough designs that drive the future of optical technology.Whether on Earth or in the vastness of space, we provide the engineering excellence that ensures your optical systems perform at their peak.We are looking for a LASERCOMM SYSTEM ENGINEER to help shape the future of space optical communications.The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and a strong team player.We seek a results-driven individual who can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, particularly in the areas of mechanical engineering, electronics, and operations.WHAT YOU' LL GET TO DOSystem level activities related to the design and realization of Optical Ground Stations for Laser Communication and/or Satellite Laser Ranging, including:System definition and sizingSub-system requirements downflow, definition and managementDefinition and management of interfaces.Establishment and maintenance of relevant performance budgetsAnalysis and simulation activitiesDefinition of verification approachContribution to integration and verification activitiesContribution to experimental testing activities in the laboratory and/or fieldPreparation of documentationIdentification and Coordination of subcontractors and supervision of their activitiesI/F with CustomerYOU' LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree or Ph D in engineering or physicsMinimum of 3 years of professional experience in optical systems for laser communicationHands-on experience in one or more of the following application areas:free space satellite optical communicationsatellite laser ranginglaser beam propagationlaser physics and photonics.Knowledge of MATLAB/Python/OctaveKnowledge of OfficeGood English skillsResults-oriented, reliable, proactive approach and with a good team working attitudeTHESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVERelevant technical knowledge in one of these areas:Adaptive optics and wave front sensing technologyLaser physics and photonicsOptical detectionOptical communicationPointing acquisition and trackingKnowledge of software tool for the design and simulation of optical communication systemsKnowledge of ZemaxExperience with requirement management SW (DOORS and similar)ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONContract: permanentLocation: Sarcedo, Vicenza (Italy)Working time: full time, hybrid as per the internal policyBenefit: company Gym
