About Us A career at Hitachi Rail will help create a legacy.With operations in every corner of the world, our work goes to the cutting-edge of digital transformation and technology.From the multi-cultural strength of our global organisation to the sustainable and innovative ways we work to bring people together, there's something for everyone to get stuck into.And that's where you come in.Location: Firenze, Italy (Hybrid)Senior Software EngineerJob objectiveWe're looking for a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in cloud-native development and complex software architectures.With at least 5 years in the field, you will contribute to the development of next-generation supervision, monitoring, and control systems in a fast-paced, international environment.Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain modern software solutions for mission-critical applications.- Lead the development of cloud-based and on-premise software architectures.- Translate system and business requirements into functional and technical specifications.- Develop robust microservices and containerised applications using DevOps principles.- Debug, optimise, and maintain both legacy and new codebases.- Collaborate with testing and support teams to resolve complex system issues.- Ensure consistent and well-documented code and architecture.- Create and deliver technical presentations to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.- Evaluate tools, frameworks, and best practices for continuous improvement and cost efficiency.Skills and experiences- Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical discipline.- Experience in supervision/monitoring system development.- Programming languages: Java, C#.- Frameworks: JPA, Spring Boot.- Architecture: Microservices, modular and multithreaded application development.- Web technologies: JavaScript, TypeScript, Stencil, React.- Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL.- Source control: Git.- Experience in developing and deploying applications to the cloud.- Hands-on with Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, Docker.- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.- Experience in system/software architecture design.- Networking fundamentals and knowledge of Linux-based systems.- Certifications in Agile, cloud platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, AWS, Azure), or DevOps tools are a plus.- Fluency in Italian and English.Thank you for your interest in Hitachi Rail.If your application is of interest, we will be in contact.Please do not hesitate to discover more about us and our latest jobs at .At Hitachi Rail, there is a place for everyone.We welcome and value differences in background, age, gender, sexuality, family status, disability, race, nationality, ethnicity, religion, and world view.It is our commitment to create an inclusive environment - we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.We would be delighted if you would be one of our followers at .#J-*****-Ljbffr
