The Oberalp Group is a management driven family business - a house of brands that creates high quality technical mountaineering products.We have 6 own brands Salewa, Dynafit, Pomoca, Wild Country, Evolv and La Munt.As an exclusive partner of other brands in the sports sector we offer our entire know how in communication, sales and image building.We are a team of more than **** employees in 11 countries worldwide – a group of adventurers and dreamers, mountaineers, looking for their next peak.The IT Infrastructure Senior Engineer supports the management and continuous improvement of our IT infrastructure and enterprise security posture.The role involves administering and maintaining client and server operating systems primarily in Microsoft environments, with exposure to Linux systems.This position requires a hands-on approach to problem-solving and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable and secure IT operations.Tasks & ResponsibilitiesIT Infrastructure Management: Maintain IT infrastructure, including operating systems in a Microsoft & Linux environment, with excellent knowledge and demonstrable experience (Windows), knowledge for LinuxVirtualization: Configuration and management of ESX virtualization systemsServer Administration: Perform server administration tasks and research event-log warnings and errorsTechnical Support: Assist the Service Desk with troubleshooting to identify root cause, and provide technical support when neededAudits & Backups: Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backupSecurity Management: Implement and monitor security policies, assist in vulnerability assessments, and respond to security incidents following established proceduresAutomation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline routine administrative tasks and improve operational efficiencyCapacity Planning: Monitor system performance and resource utilization, providing recommendations for infrastructure scaling and optimizationDocumentation: Draft and update documentation related to procedures and activities performedProfessional Development: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in system administrationNetworking: Configure and manage networks using HPE Aruba Networking technologiesCloud Services and Collaboration: Manage cloud services with Microsoft Azure, administer Teams Phone and Share PointIT Projects: Participate in IT projects to improve infrastructure efficiency and security, with opportunities to lead smaller technical initiatives under supervisionProfileBachelor or Master Degree in Informatics or equivalent relevant experience10+ years of proven experience in system administration roles, with demonstrable progression in technical responsibilitiesExcellent knowledge of Windows Server administration ***************) and Active Directory managementStrong experience with VMWare ESXi virtualization and VeeamGood working knowledge of at least three of the following technologies: Citrix, Veeam Backup, HPE Aruba Networking, Microsoft Azure, Teams Phone, Share Point Online, Ubiquiti NetworkExperience with Linux server administration (basic to intermediate level) for common distributions (Ubuntu, Cent OS, or RHEL)Solid scripting skills in Power Shell (required), with additional experience in Python or.NET considered a strong plusAdvanced experience in managing Microsoft 365 and ability to administer it in a hybrid environmentAt least one professional certification (Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, VMware VCP, HPE ASE, or equivalent) is strongly preferred.Additional certifications will be considered a significant plusStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsDemonstrates a hands-on mentality and willingness to learn new technologiesTakes initiative, carries ideas forward, actively faces challengesAvailability to travel within the EMEA region and the US.If you are interested to work in a challenging, international and dynamic environment then apply now
