What we're looking for We are a leading international provider of classification, compliance, and consultancy services to the marine and offshore industry, helping our customers design, construct and operate their assets to the highest levels of safety and performance.We are shaping the industry's future through the development of novel and innovative technology for the next generation of assets while continuing to deliver solutions for our customers every day.An exciting opportunity exists to join a flexible, dynamic, and motivated team within Lloyd's Register's Ship Emergency Response Service (SERS).The pioneering service, which was the first of its kind and has been in operation for more than 30 years, provides round the clock access to technical advice for the maritime community in the event that of a shipboard emergency such as flooding, grounding, explosion or a loss in stability, etc.What we offer you The opportunity to work for an organization that has a strong sense of purpose, is values driven and helps colleagues to develop professionally and personally through our range of people development programmes.Competative compensation package.The role Train to participate in drills and emergencies as a member of the SERS on-call team Prepare and maintain computer models of marine assets Develop and maintain emergency response tools and procedures Develop and deliver training internally and externally Undertake consultancy projects Peer review colleagues' work Pursue continual professional development, to keep up to date with current vessel operations and technology trends.What you bring A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd's Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum of two years program) or Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship's officer Experience modelling vessels with NAPA and/or Seasafe Good understanding of emergency response techniques, theory and procedures The ability to pay attention to details The ability to work towards set timelines The ability to work with speed and accuracy even when under time pressure Excellent communication skills appropriate to the audience Excellent command of the English language Demonstrated skills in coordinating projects Membership of an appropriate professional institution and working towards chartered status.#LI-AR1 #LI-Hybrid About us We are a leading international technical professional service provider and a leader in classification, compliance, and consultancy services to the marine and offshore industry, a trusted advisor to our customers helping to design, construct and operate their assets to the highest levels of safety and performance.We are shaping the industry's future through the development of novel and innovative technology for the next generation of assets, while continuing to deliver solutions for our customers every day.
