We are a serious, and well-established family residing in a beautiful coastal town in Italy. We are currently seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and native-level English-speaking Au Pair to join our household. We pride ourselves on being a good family with a commitment to integrity, education, and mutual respect. We lead a busy but organized life. We live in a modern, well-appointed 120-square-meter apartment. To ensure our home runs smoothly and to allow you to focus entirely on our daughter, we employ a full-time domestic helper who handles all daily cleaning and household maintenance. _ Location: Life by the Sea We live in a charming town of approximately 50,000 residents called Civitanova located directly on the Adriatic coast with a perfect balance between urban amenities and a relaxed seaside lifestyle. You will have access to beautiful beaches, local cafes, and cultural sites. _ Meet Our Daughter The heart of this role is our daughter, who is currently almost 2 years old. She is at a crucial age of discovery, language acquisition, and personality development. Current Routine: She attends a local nursery school (asilo nido) every morning, where she socializes with other children. This provides her with a structured environment before she returns home to your care. _ The Role and Responsibilities We are looking for someone who is more than a babysitter; we are looking for a Language Tutor and Developmental Guide. Your primary mission is to immerse our daughter in the English language through play, routine, and direct interaction. A. Afternoon Education and Engagement From the moment she returns from nursery (after lunch) until she goes to sleep, you will be her primary companion. Language Immersion: You will speak exclusively in English with her. You will read stories, sing songs, and engage in age-appropriate educational play to build her vocabulary and comprehension. Activity Planning: You will be responsible for organizing stimulating activities, whether it's a walk by the sea, a trip to the park, or creative play at home. B. Nutritional Care Meal Preparation: You will be responsible for preparing her afternoon snacks and her dinner (le pappe). We value healthy, fresh, and nutritious meals and will provide all the necessary ingredients and guidance on her dietary needs. Feeding: Assisting her during mealtime, encouraging good manners and a healthy relationship with food. C. Hygiene and Daily Care Diaper Changes: You will handle all hygiene needs during your shift, including frequent diaper changes and assisting with potty training when the time comes. Bathing: Preparing her for bed with a calming bath routine. D. The Bedtime Routine One of the most sensitive parts of the day is the "time to bed." Preparation: Getting her into pajamas and brushing teeth. Settling: You will be responsible for the "addormentamento"--soothing her to sleep. This requires patience, a gentle touch, and the ability to create a peaceful environment. _ Schedule and Working Hours To provide clarity, here is the expected framework of your schedule: Morning: Free time. Our daughter is at nursery and the housekeeper is managing the home. This is your time to study, explore, or rest. Post-Lunch to Bedtime: This is your core working block. You will pick up the baby from the nursery and stay with the child until she is safely asleep. Weekends: Generally free, except saturday mornings where you will be with the baby till after lunch. Though occasional flexibility may be requested for family outings or special events. Vacations: we travel 2-3 times per year. You will come with us all paid and you will take care of the baby for most of the time. _ What We Offer Private Accommodation: A comfortable apartment within 5 min walking from our home. Financial Compensation: A competitive monthly pocket money/salary, reflecting the educational nature of the role. Full Board: All meals are included. Domestic Support: You are not expected to do heavy cleaning, as we have a dedicated maid. Your focus remains 100% on the child and her English education. Integration: We will treat you with the utmost respect and include you in our family life while respecting your independence. _ Ideal Candidate Profile We are looking for a young woman who possesses the following qualities: Native-Level English Speaker: This is a non-negotiable requirement as the primary goal is language acquisition. Experience: Proven experience with toddlers (1-3 years old). Understanding the developmental milestones of a 2-year-old is vital.Seriousness and Discretion: We are a "very serious" family and expect a candidate who is professional, punctual, and maintains high standards of conduct. Nurturing Personality: Someone who is naturally patient, warm, and capable of creating a strong bond with a young child. Commitment: We are looking for someone who can commit to a significant period (e.g., 6-12 months) to ensure stability for our daughter.
