Test Automation Engineer – Firmware (Hybrid | Milan) Location:Via Valtorta, MilanWork Model:Hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days remote)Languages Required:Italian & EnglishFreelancers:Yes, freelance collaboration is welcomeAbout the RoleWe're looking for aTest Automation Engineer (Firmware)who is passionate about automation, embedded systems, and high-quality engineering.You'll play a key role in designing, developing, and executing automated tests that ensure the reliability and performance of our firmware solutions.If you enjoy working with Python, embedded environments, and cross-functional teams, this opportunity will keep you challenged and growing.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze requirements and contribute to detailed test planningDevelop automated test scripts inPython , integrated with proprietary testing toolsExecute existing and new test scripts according to the test planAnalyze test results and produce clear, structured reportsCollaborate with firmware, hardware, and QA teamsPerform functional, non-functional, regression, and integration testingApply test design techniques and ensure full traceability and coverageConfigure hardware setups and testbedsRequired SkillsStrong experience withPython(advanced level)Scripting experience inPythonandBashFamiliarity withembedded firmwareand hardware testingKnowledge ofGitand version control workflowsUnderstanding ofRTOS ,Linux , and other operating systemsExperience documenting test cases and resultsKnowledge of TLC protocols:PLC, RF, TCP/IP, DLMS, Serial, CellularExperience withJIRA X-Ray ,Confluence , and test management toolsFamiliarity withAgilemethodologies (Scrum, Kanban)Strong defect management and reporting skillsExperience with risk-based test planningAdditional RequirementsA personal PC capable of running test tools (If not available, one can be provided)Work EnvironmentHybrid work model (3/5 days on-site)Remote work possibleNo sensitive data processedOpen toFreelancerorContractorprofilesIf you're ready to work on cutting-edge firmware testing and contribute to high-impact engineering projects, we'd love to hear from you.
