Job Title:Head of Engineering Location:Turin, Italy Company Industry:Renewable Energy – Solar PV & Energy Storage Seniority Level:Senior Leadership Salary:Competitive + benefitsWho We Are We are a dynamic, globally connected recruitment and executive search agency with a proven track record since ****.Partnering with leading multinationals, high-growth start-ups, and ambitious SMEs in the renewable energy industry, we deliver exceptional talent solutions that drive business success and long-term impact.The Client Our client is an established yet fast-growing renewable energy developer with a strong international presence.Focused on delivering high-quality solar and energy storage assets, they are currently expanding their technical team in Italy to support an active and growing development pipeline.The Role AsHead of Engineering, you will lead the design, optimisation, and delivery of large-scale solar PV and battery storage projects across Italy.This position is integral to ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and innovation within the company's growing portfolio — contributing directly to the energy transition and the company's long-term success.Key Responsibilities Lead the engineering function for utility-scale PV and energy storage projects, from early-stage design through to execution.Develop and optimise system layouts, electrical configurations, and detailed designs in line with project requirements.Oversee technical due diligence, feasibility studies, and energy yield assessments.Manage compliance with Italian and international electrical standards, ensuring quality and safety throughout all project stages.Interface with local authorities to address secondary permitting requirements and ensure all technical documentation meets regulatory standards.Collaborate with development, project management, and procurement teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.Represent the engineering team in strategic discussions, supporting continuous improvement and innovation across the business.Requirements Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.Proven experience leading engineering or technical functions within solar PV (experience in BESS a plus).Proficiency in design and simulation tools such as PVsyst, AutoCAD, and QGIS.Strong knowledge of Italian electrical standards, permitting processes, and project execution practices.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.Fluency in Italian and English (Spanish advantageous).What's on Offer Flexible working environment with a mix of office and remote work.Significant scope for professional growth within a rapidly expanding international business.The opportunity to play a key leadership role in shaping the technical direction of large-scale renewable projects.Collaborative and forward-thinking company culture committed to innovation and sustainability.How to Apply You can apply for this role directly on LinkedIn, via our website, or by contacting me directly at.
