Piping Material Engineer

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.Your impactWithin our Piping Department in the Italy office, we are looking for a Piping Material Engineer.Main responsibilities includeDevelop / check Piping Material Specs, Valve Data Sheets, Piping SP list, Piping SP items (for chemical and pharmaceutical projects, both for hygienic and non-hygienic services);Create Enquiry Requisitions, conduct Technical Bid Evaluations and assemble Technical Requirements for Purchase Order Valve Packages;Prepare work instructions/procedures /guidelines;Check and perform code calculations according to EN and ASME B31.3.;Select materials and piping components and develop related data sheets according to project requirements;Provide assistance to BIM engineers with input sheets for the 3D Model catalogue creation and update;Coordinate the production of all deliverables in accordance with the Project schedule;Support piping designers on developing Material Take Off extracted from 3D models;Create Piping Scope of Work descriptions for tenders;Prepare bid packages and carry out technical bid tabulations / bid analysis of offers received from contractors/vendors;Capacity of working collaboratively with designers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure proper integration with other disciplines and the successful completion of projects;Perform follow-up activities, comment, and approve documentation received from contractors;Represent the project team/group in internal and external meetings, when neededHere's what you'll needMechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent experience is required;Knowledge of main international piping codes relevant to the pharmaceutical market;Organizational skills to manage multiple activities, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines always respecting project requirements;Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey design ideas and collaborate with team members and clients, internal and external;Ability of thinking out of the box to add value and generate optimization ideas;Good presentation skills and troubleshooting approach guided by logical reasoning;Willingness to travel for short periods;Fluency in spoken and written English and very good knowledge of Italian (at least B2).Ideally, you'll also haveExperience in piping systems for industrial plants, preferably in chemical, Biotech and pharmaceutical industry;Knowledge of ISO Quality Management procedures;Willingness to update and improve your technical knowledge of international industrial norms, design standards, European Directives (PED, ATEX, Machinery), with a proactive approach for continuous learning;Experience in specifying static and rotating equipment, pressure vessels, machinery (pumps, agitators, compressors), "package" equipment, etc. is a plus.Please submit your resume in English.We know that if we are inclusive, we're more connected, and if we are diverse, we're more creative.We accept people for who they are, regardless of age, disabilities, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, mental health, race, faith or belief, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, and whether you're pregnant or on family leave.Find out more about life at Jacobs.As a Disability Confident employer, we will interview all disabled applicants who meet the criteria for a vacancy.If you require further support or reasonable adjustments with regards to the recruitment process (for example, you require the application form in a different format), please contact the teamJacobs Italia**We value collaboration and believe that in-person interactions are crucial for both our culture and client delivery.We empower employees with our hybrid working policy, allowing them to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations enabling them to deliver their best work.Your application experience is important to us, and we're keen to adapt to make every interaction even better.If you require further support or reasonable adjustments with regards to the recruitment process (for example, you require the application form in a different format), please contact the team via Careers Support.
