Senior Staff FW Engineer / Customer Technical Support Join to apply for theSenior Staff FW Engineer / Customer Technical Supportrole atSynopsys IncOverviewJoin a team of cross-functional, world-class SerDes developers encompassing digital, analog, firmware and system design engineers.The position offers an excellent opportunity to work with an expert team of engineers responsible for delivering high-end mixed-signal designs from specification development to prototype test-chips and state-of-the-art IP products.We're looking for an experienced FW developer with a strong interest for a customer-facing role.As products reach maturity and are shipped to customers, you will be the first line of response to customer-sourced incidents and requests, taking on the role of a technical point of contact for specific customers.You will play a fundamental part in quickly and proactively reacting to customer-raised incidents and requests.As part of the firmware team, you will be involved throughout the entire firmware development life cycle and exposed to the entire FW design, processes and flows.ResponsibilitiesContribute to FW development, with emphasis on best practices for readability, testability and optimization.Perform on-silicon FW debugging and validation tests.Interact with customers during their silicon bring-up to debug anomalies and create response plans.Produce high-quality documentation of FW-related procedures.Interact with other project stakeholders, including other FW team members, digital/analog designers, verification & validation engineers to refine specifications, understand test results, and create action plans accordingly.Key QualificationsBSEE or MSEE preferably in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.Proficiency with the C programming languageGood knowledge of build systems based on GNU makeFamiliarity with HW design languages (preferably: Verilog).Hands-on experience with lab test environments (Python, MATLAB).Relevant experience with the development of bare-metal embedded firmware.Experience with customer-facing roles.Excellent low-level debugging skills.Availability for occasional customer on-site debugging (travelling internationally).Additional skillsYou are eager to learn the product from top to bottom.You possess outstanding analytical skills.You can find the ultimate root causes of problems by back tracing long chains of cause-effect events.You are well organized and able to maintain prioritized threads of activities.You are willing to take on responsibilities and want to grow your career in a fast-paced environment.You are available to travel and work occasionally on customer sites to provide debugging support.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionDesign, Consulting, and EngineeringIndustriesSemiconductor ManufacturingSoftware DevelopmentComputer Hardware ManufacturingReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Synopsys Inc by 2xGet notified about new Senior Staff Firmware Engineer jobs inPavia, Lombardy, Italy .We're unlocking community knowledge in a new way.Experts add insights directly into each article, started with the help of AI.#J-*****-Ljbffr
