Join a global leader in petrochemical valve and actuation systems — now driving innovation in green hydrogen.IMI Remosa, a long-established leader in the petrochemical sector and part of IMI Group, specializes in the design and manufacturing of valves, actuators, and hydraulic control systems for refinery and petrochemical plants.As part of our strategic expansion, we are now developing and industrializing electrolyzer technologies for green hydrogen production.We are looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join our Engineering Department in Uta (Cagliari, Sardinia) and contribute directly to the design, optimization, and safety of our next-generation electrolysis systems.Role OverviewThe ideal candidate has 5–10 years of experience in process engineering within industrial or plant environments.In this role, you will support the development of advanced hydrogen electrolysis systems, ensuring high performance, reliability, and compliance with international safety standards.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and optimization of processes for electrolysis plants.Sizing of process components (valves, heat exchangers, piping, etc.).Design and integration of AC/DC power conversion systems.Preparation and review of technical documentation (P&ID, datasheets, specifications).Conducting safety analyses and participating in HAZOP and risk assessments.Collaboration with automation teams for PLC-based control systems.Implementation and verification of SIL-compliant safety instrumented systems.Support during commissioning and start-up phases.Technical coordination with suppliers and customers.Worldwide service activities for commissioning and troubleshooting.Technical RequirementsDegree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.5–10 years of process engineering experience in industrial plants.Knowledge of:Process component sizingPLC-based control systemsSIL standards and practicesHAZOP methodologiesAC/DC power conversion systemsProficiency in English (written and spoken)Soft SkillsTechnical leadership: ability to participate in technical discussions with clients and sub-vendors.Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.Effective communication with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.Solid time and priority management skills.Teamwork in multidisciplinary environments.Strong quality and safety orientation.Nice to HaveExperience in EPC projects.Knowledge of ATEX regulations and gas-related safety.Familiarity with IEC / ISO international standards.Experience with process simulation tools (Aspen HYSYS, CHEMCAD, etc.).Background in energy storage or renewable integration.Safety certifications (e.g., Functional Safety Engineer).What We OfferAn international and well-structured working environmentOn-the-job training with experienced colleagues in the industryFlexible working hoursFree lunch in our company canteen
