candidate will serve as the principal technical authority for refrigeration systems, driving innovation, efficiency, and reliability while ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.You will be responsible for developing technical standards, develop innovative solutions and implementing sustainable initiatives that optimize our refrigeration infrastructure.This role requires extensive experience in grocery refrigeration systems, including medium and low-temperature applications, display cases, walk-in units, and central plant operations.The position demands a strong background in food safety protocols, HACCP principles, and regulatory compliance, combined with expertise in building automation systems and energy management.The successful candidate will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to drive continuous improvement, implement new technologies, and maintain the highest standards of food safety and system reliability across our operations.ResponsibilitiesProvide field support for refrigeration sites across assigned geography including support for operations, field maintenance, and food safety partnersLead technical direction for refrigeration systems across grocery locations, including system specifications, performance optimization, and monitoring solutionsDevelop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs, quality assurance protocols, and sustainable practices for refrigeration systemsEnsure compliance with food safety regulations while creating and maintaining standard operating proceduresDrive innovation in refrigeration technology, focusing on energy efficiency and environmental impact reductionDesign and deliver technical training programs for staff development and system maintenance excellenceTechnical leadership in commercial and industrial refrigeration systemsGrocery-specific refrigeration requirements and food safety complianceEnergy efficiency and sustainability initiativesProgram management and cross-functional team leadershipTraining and development of technical staffUnderstanding of refrigeration systems, troubleshooting, design, and repairFamiliarity with low-GWP refrigerants, pending regulatory requirements, disciplineKnowledge of retail food code and regulations governing grocery retail at local, state, and federal levels5+ years of experience in commercial/industrial refrigeration systems, with at least 3 years specifically in grocery/supermarket refrigerationExperience with building automation systems and energy managementDemonstrated experience with medium and low-temperature refrigeration systems, walk-in coolers and freezers, display cases, rack refrigeration systems, and CO2 (R744) refrigeration systemsPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in a technical field3+ years of managing food safety and quality in a large-scale retail or manufacturing environment experienceCertified Retail Energy Specialist (CRES) certificationExperience leading sustainability initiatives and energy $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market.Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related
