Software Development Engineer, AWS Edge ConnectivityAWS Edge Connectivity service enables AWS Cloud connectivity options for US Intelligence and Department of Defense customers.These connectivity options allow our customer to deploy and run their isolated, sensitive workloads in an environment exclusive for their use-case.In this role, you will build network pathways with which customers connect to Amazon's Dedicated Cloud partitions.You'll architect and implement software security protocols across Wide Area Networks (WANs), ensuring seamless and secure access to dedicated cloud environments.The candidate selected must obtain and maintain a security clearance at the TS/SCI with polygraph level.Upon start, the selected candidate will be sponsored for a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.Key job responsibilities include:Collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to design, build, and implement cloud-based services for managing encrypted network connectionsBuild distributed systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, with ease of management and useInfluence product direction through data-backed technical insights and framing solutions in terms of business impactMentor your teammates, helping to grow and develop their technical and operational skillsParticipate in on-call rotation in support of our servicesA day in the life: Our team follows the Agile development methodology.Team members participate in daily stand-ups and weekly sprint planning and backlog grooming sessions.About the team: Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world's most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform.We pioneered cloud computing and never stopped innovating — that's why customers from the most successful startups to Global 500 companies trust our robust suite of products and services to power their businesses.Basic QualificationsRequirements:3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experienceBachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)Experience programming with at least one software programming languageExperience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, IPSec)Preferred QualificationsPreferred:Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experienceExperience with network Layer2/3 encryption(HAIPE/Ethernet Data Encryption(EDE))Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or aboveAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.If you have a disability and need a workplace accommodation or adjustment during the application and hiring process, please visit for more information.#J-*****-Ljbffr
