Who We AreProgress Rail Signaling Spa is a leader in railway infrastructure solutions, founded in **** in Pistoia, Italy.With a legacy of over sixty years, we specialize in power supply units, LED-based signalling systems, Automatic Train Protection, ERTMS, and Computer-Based Interlocking systems that manage hundreds of miles of track from a single control centre.Job PurposeThe role is based in Italy, with the primary office in Pistoia.As a Hardware Designer, you will be pivotal in the development of hardware components that support automated traffic control systems, from analysis of needs through design, testing, and production support.ResponsibilitiesDesign new digital and analog electrical boards and interconnects for ECM Field Equipment Components (FEC).Evaluate software and hardware during deployment to ensure smooth system functioning.Implement product designs, support production, and meet time-frame, quality, and cost targets.Manage technical aspects and monitor efficient deployment of new technologies and systems, following the SIL-4 development process as prescribed by EN-***** and EN-*****.Test components, analyze data, and iterate designs to achieve seamless operation, documenting fixes and changes.Coordinate with product development teams to perform Design for Testability (DFT) during the design cycle.Collaborate with software, mechanical, and other engineering colleagues to reduce bugs and enhance product quality.Work with outsourced validation and manufacturing partners to ensure timely supply of systems and devices per specification.Coordinate with client engineering teams and management to ensure efficiency.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline (master's degree preferred).Strong background in hardware engineering.Proficiency with hardware design software tools such as Altium Designer, Orcad, or Cadence Allegro.Programming skills in C/C++ and experience with hardware description languages like Verilog.Familiarity with operating systems such as Linux and UNIX.Experience with electronics test equipment (oscilloscopes, frequency analyzers, testers, etc.).Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey instructions clearly.Good English proficiency (B2 or higher).Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.Working for YouContemporary work-life balance policies.Training programs.Equal Opportunity & DiversityProgress Rail Signaling is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, protected veteran status, or other characteristics protected by law.We hold the UNIPdR125 : **** Certification on Gender Equity, SA****, and UNI ISO ***** : **** Diversity & Inclusion Certification.#J-*****-Ljbffr
