Amazon Transportation Risk & Compliance (TRC) provides a framework for Amazon's last mile (LM) transportation programs to identify and manage risk in a rapidly growing and complex, global environment.To support the business, our primary mission is to perform independent and objective assessment of risks and testing of the controls embedded in Amazon business partners' processes with the goal of optimizing the achievement of strategic objectives by minimizing negative surprises.We further provide Audit & Monitoring (A&M) support of high-risk transportation risk topics to drive compliance across our LM programs and influence business controls.We are looking for an experienced Senior Risk Manager to join our Japan TRC LM Audit & Monitoring (A&M) team, who can apply their knowledge of risk management and internal controls to a diverse set of transportation risk areas including compliance, process, technology, legal, finance, and program management.The successful candidate will propose innovative approaches and risk mitigation strategies throughout the business life cycle.In this highly visible role, you will work closely with the legal, business, product, and operations teams on effective risk mitigation countermeasures to ensure continued safety and compliance for Amazon and our transportation Job ResponsibilitiesIndependently conduct comprehensive Risk Assessments of Amazon's transportation programs and propose risk mitigation strategyAssist stakeholders (e.g., risk partners and business leaders) with identifying and managing potential risks (e.g., regulatory, operational, or reputational) in their core processes that if left untreated could impact the achievement of their strategic objectivesApply the risk management framework to Amazon transportation programs and influence the product landscape for audit and controlsGuide business leadership, resolve risk management concerns, implement mitigation strategies, and influence the product roadmapDrive documentation of processes, risks, controls and work with owners to assign accountabilityValidate the business stakeholder's risk control effectiveness and follow up on their implementation statusWork closely with legal and public policy to identify the new regulations, understand emerging risk environment, and influence controls and compliance programsEvaluate the effectiveness of the transportation program's contract with 3rd party carriers and Amazon program policy to mitigate risks associated with transportation businessIdentify areas where compliance assurance is required and develop a risk-based audit program for 3rd party carrier complianceManage and execute cross-functional projects or programs including Day in the LifeIn this role, you will work closely with Amazon JP LM transportation business to understand their nuanced risk landscapes, align on risk mitigation strategies, recommend 1st line risk controls, and form A&M programs in a sustainable and scalable way to control the risks under the reasonable level.You will also partner with various teams including legal, public policy, finance, safety, and compliance teams to understand and evaluate risks, and optimize A&M that will provide assurance to compliance years of compliance, audit or risk management experienceBachelor's degree or equivalentKnowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced levelExperience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship (3+ years)Exceptional analytical skills, comfortable working with large amounts of data and communicating data findings (3+ years)Demonstrated ability to successfully lead projects independently and meet deadlinesExcellent organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, and time managementStrong verbal and written communication skillsFluency in English and JapaneseExperience in warehouse operations and logistics or equivalentMaster's degree or equivalentUnderstanding
