Fraunhofer Italia is hiring a control/robotics engineer/scientist at the earliest possible date.Fraunhofer Italia with headquarters in Bolzano (Italy) is hiring a new member for its research group "Machine Intelligence Development" within the department "Robotics Intelligent Systems Engineering".This group focuses on the development of AI-based solutions mainly (but not limited to) applied to automation technology involving intelligent robots and systems.Are you an eager to build on and expand your knowledge in exciting applications?If so, apply for this position at Fraunhofer ItaliaRequirements: You have a M.Sc.degree in control engineering and/or robotics.You work independently, systematically and have a high degree of commitment, creativity and team spirit.You have work or scientific experience ( 1 year).You have strong programming skills in Python with hands-on experience with Learning-based control frameworks.You have strong programming skills in Cpp with hands-on experience in developing real-time controllers.You have experience with ROS2 integration.You have knowledge of DevOps practices (at least basic).You speak either Italian or German and have proficiency in English.A desirable plus: PhD degree or higher scientific experience in related fields Research background Your job Your main activities will involve the desing and development of learning-based trajectory and interaction controllers for a mobile manipulator in the context of the public funded (ERDF - European Regional Development Fund) research project "ARMS - Assistive Robot for Multipurpose Support to patients and caregivers" developed by Fraunhofer Italia in collaboration with Melittaklinik.The project focuses on the development of a multipurpose mobile manipulator to support patients and caregivers during a different set of operations among which navigation, logistics, rehabilitation tasks.Additional activities may involve the development of application-oriented concepts and their implementation in cooperation with clients as well as the participation to various research projects at the interface between science and practice.
