technicians through satellite integration operations and will support other final assembly areas.This individual will work closely with other launch operations and satellite manufacturing teams.The Manufacturing Engineer implements test requirements, designs and establishes the payload processing facility satellite integration work cell, supports facility and equipment planning, authors procedures, implements process controls, and supports continuous improvement.The ideal candidate is comfortable in a highly technical and collaborative setting and is able to interpret technical requirements and turn them into actionable steps.Key job responsibilitiesPlanning workstation layouts for satellite integration, optimized to eventually reach the planned processing ratePlanning material flow and implementing manufacturing processes for satellite integrationIntegrating satellites onto dispensersAutomated testing of satellites using various EGSEContinuously improving satellite integration and test processesInterfacing with facilities personnel to set up and work within a payload processing facilityEvaluating and improving takt timeAuthoring and implementing work instructions and standard processesResolving anomalies and implementing corrective actionsOperations will occur primarily on second shift, Monday-Friday but off-shift and weekend work may be required depending on production/launch schedulesMust be willing and able to perform extended travel up to 25% annually, either domestically or internationally as business needs demandA day in the lifeThe Manufacturing Engineer will spend the majority of their day on the shop floor leading their team through satellite to dispenser mating operations.They will work with other engineering teams, quality, and manufacturing teams to set up and maintain the satellite integration equipment.They will address root cause of failures and issues, and implement production control and optimization strategies.They will implement engineering best practices in a safe and repeatable manner, implement efficiency improvements and reduce non-conformances.The Manufacturing Engineer will have experience in space hardware integration and test, with particular focus on handling flight hardware or lifting and rigging systems.We want individuals who are ready for this challenge and want to reach beyond equivalentKnowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operationsExperience with hardware/software integration and real-time systemsPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent2+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experienceKnowledge of schematic design and debug labor across several US geographic markets.The base pay for this position ranges from $86,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.Pay is based on
