We have an immediate opening for a Project Design Mechanical Engineer in the Indonesia Cluster. If you meet these qualifications, exude passion, and enjoy the challenge of innovative projects at hyper-scale, this job is for you As an Amazon Fleet Remediation Project Design Mechanical Engineer, you will lead design projects in operational data centers. Your responsibilities include: Own the design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions to add infrastructure, capacity, improve availability, and/or increase sustainability. Perform design and equipment submittal review for Data Centers in your region. Interface with internal and external data center design engineering teams, server hardware team, environmental health & safety team, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability. Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions. Act as a technical subject matter expert for your discipline during new remediation projects. Support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover. As an ideal candidate you should: Possess strong engineering judgment and be able to provide design recommendations despite uncertainty. Be detail-oriented and data-oriented with familiarity with design/construction processes. Have experience managing engineering projects and engineering consultants. Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Commissioning, Construction, and Design). Manage design and as-built drawings and documents. Prepare and present progress reports to all relevant stakeholders. Be inclined to get into the field to see things up close. A day in the life of a Fleet Remediation Project Design Mechanical Engineer involves interacting with teams responsible for all aspects of the data centers. You will prioritize activities to support data center safety, remediation projects, capacity, and availability, focusing on the most impactful actions. You will work on projects locally and globally. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent. 4 years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience. Experience as a resident engineer or hands-on design consultant. Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer License. Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production. Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents. Knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems design. Experience using a variety of web-based software's and tools for calculation and data processing mainly CFD software.
