A Joint Venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), Thales Alenia Space is a global space manufacturer delivering, for more than 40 years, high-tech solutions for telecommunications, navigation, Earth Observation, environmental management, exploration, science and orbital infrastructures.Thanks to our diversity of skills, talents and cultures, our customers (governments, institutions, space agencies, telecommunications operators), therefore have Space to Connect, Secure & Defend, Observe & Protect, Explore, Travel & Navigate.We are looking for a Ground Segment Engineer**Permanent responsibility:**Within the Ground Segment Department of Domain Observation and Navigation Italy, he/she has to perform Ground Segment engineering activities, with particular focus on GS mission specific building blocks and relevant interfaces definition, with the aim to design advanced solutions for the Ground Segment of EO Products.**Task description:**As member of the Engineering Team he/she shall be in charge of:* Analysis of input requirements and applicable documentation* Contribute to the definition of requirements at Ground Segment and subsystem level, ensuring proper flow-down and traceability* Contribute to the analysis and trade-offs among different design solutions, in particular for large satellites constellation management solutions in a multi-mission environment* Contribute to the detailed definition of GS building blocks and relevant external/internal interfaces* Contribute to development of Mission Planner system for different EO missions, in terms of system design and algorithms prototyping.* Contribute to the consolidation of the Ground Segment Baseline documentation (ADD, ICD, requirements baseline, DVCM)* Maintain the requirements baseline (through DOORS/Polarion)* Participate to technical meeting (internal and with customer)**Language:** fluent English, spoken and written**Personal requirements**:* Working heritage on major earth observation ground segment systems* Knowledge of RADAR principles (knowledge of Optical principles is welcome)* Knowledge of system engineering processes for requirements and solution design management* Knowledge of main EO mission programming schemes (user request management and mission planning) and typical mission constraints* Knowledge of object programming in particular Python, and C ++.* Knowledge of microservices SW design, DevOps methodology and cloud technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).* Knowledge of control segment main functions (flight dynamics, spacecraft control center)* Knowledge of production management main functions (SAR processing orchestration)* Knowledge of Ground Stations (S-Band, X-Band) main functions* Knowledge of artificial intelligence, Big Data, and deep learning techniques.* Ability to relate to people to find information, share analysis results and facilitate "problem solving";* Availability to travel;* Excellent ability to work by deadlinesThe ideal candidate has a distinctly propensity to team working and is at ease mediating even between different requests.Open minded to different cultures in working, he/she always uses a collaborative approach, helping to find shared solutions.**Location:** RomeAt Thales Alenia Space we provide CAREERS and not only jobs.With Thales Alenia Space employing around 8,900 employees in 10 countries with 17 sites in Europe and a plant in the US, our mobility policy enables employees each year to develop their careers at home and abroad.Thales Alenia Space sees space as a new horizon, helping to build a better, more sustainable life on Earth #SpaceForLife.Great journeys start here, apply now#J-*****-Ljbffr
