Start date: mid-February **** (1 year fixed term contract) Product At EF World Journeys, we believe that the best way to learn about the world is to experience it, and we strive to help as many people as possible share that experience.EF Go Ahead Tours and EF Ultimate Break are divisions of EF World Journeys and we make world travel easy.We want to empower travelers of all ages to get out there and experience something new on our guided tours.If you share this passion for opening the world, come work with usThe Role The EF World Journeys Operations team is currently looking for an ambitious, detail-oriented, and proactive Transportation Coordinator based in our office in Rome.In this role, you will: Work closely with the Transportation Team in Zurich and the Tour Director (TD) Department in Rome.Manage day-to-day operations related to airport transfers, primarily in Italy, while supporting other European markets as needed.Act as the first point of contact for Tour Directors and suppliers regarding transfer-related questions and emergency situations.Collaborate with the Transportation Specialist for Italy, who oversees supplier negotiations, relationships, and budgets.Support the team with additional operational tasks throughout the season, based on business needs and seasonality.Core responsibilities Further foster your existing market knowledge and expertise through constant networking and research, competition awareness, and industry insights.Maintain a positive and constructive relationship with existing and potential suppliers in the assigned market, in keeping with cross-product sourcing strategy.Provide all documentation to suppliers related to the upcoming bookings and train them on our systems to ensure smooth processes.Work closely with our EF Tour Directors to answer pending questions around transportation services related to their upcoming tours and whilst on tour.Help problem solving around emergency cases on tour related to transportation services.Work closely with our Safety and Incident Response team to ensure effective case management.Act as the main point of contact with our Accounts Payable team for invoice payments to suppliers.Working closely with the team to ensure our supplier relationships are maintained and suppliers are paid on time.Ensure all systems and supplier updates are managed in due time and that all safety and cost guidelines are adhered to.Work to balance cost and quality and achieve cross-product requirements.contribute to the development of technology solutions and the continuous improvement of current tools and processes.Working closely with the Transportation Specialist (responsible for negotiating contracts, managing relationship with suppliers and managing budgets) of the assigned market, with the broader Transportation Team and with TD Department.Requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in business, economics, or tourism.Fluency in English and Italian required, and a combination of French, German, Spanish and any other languages advantageous.Similar work experience is a plus.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.Strategic mindset combined with hands-on approach to daily operations.Experience in the travel, tourism, educational travel, or online travel agency industry along with a strong interest and network in these fields is preferred.Agile and open-minded team player.Strong communication, negotiation skills and cultural awareness.Flexible, quick learner and a proven problem solver.Able to analyze and question processes and strives to come up with creative ways of improving them.Think outside the boxApplication Please submit your CV
