Controls Application Engineer We are looking for a Controls Application Engineer to join our team in Piove di Sacco, Italy.At Vertiv, we're on a mission to empower the people that will power the future.From a simple swipe to life-changing medicines, from push notifications to generative AI.We design, manufacture, and service the products and solutions that keep the world connected.With $6.9 billion in sales, a strong customer base and global reach spanning nearly 70 countries, we are uniquely positioned to deliver greater value to our customers and create new opportunities for our people.ResponsibilitiesTranslate software and hardware requirements into concise and robust programming code and document it, work as a team player with other Controls Engineers to match the customer needs.Provide solid configuration management to each part of the project and act according to release plans.Provide software support to all areas of the company that requires it, such as Sales, Offering, System Engineering, Procurement, Operation and Service.Translate high level application requirements into Software Specifications, producing the related deliverables (documentation, scope of operations, test plans).Design, develop and implement PLC programs and applications that respond to given requirements.Perform prototyping, application tests and code reviews to ensure product quality.Validate the released software attending tests in lab and occasionally in the field, reporting bugs and proposing possible improvements.Deliver training and product handover to relevant stakeholders – Academy, Application Engineering and Service.Maintain existing software baselines, perform debugging, testing, code improvement and re-designing tasks, including the configuration management process.Review hardware and components evolution and phase-in/phase-out, adapting and redesigning according to the need.Collaborate with Service and Quality teams to optimize products and ensure products stay up-to-date and continue to satisfy customer needs.Coordinate troubleshooting of high-level PLC issues, with development teams and appropriate methodology.Prepare training documents for maintenance and production teams, explaining the operation and troubleshooting of complex control systems.What will make you successful?Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Information or a related field) or the equivalent combination of education and/or years of relevant work experience.Minimum 2 years relevant project experience working with controls and automation equipment related to development, debugging, setup as well as support and troubleshooting of industrial chillers and/or air conditioners.Understanding of programming logic controllers according to IEC ******* standards or similar.Ideally, also understanding of other programming and scripting languages (C/C++, C#, Javascript, HTML), even academic.MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer literacy.Good English written and oral communication skills.Must be a self-starter, team player, work well with others and have a positive attitude.Must be a creative thinker, results oriented, focused, and attentive to detail and accuracy.Must have ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.Sharp, quick, dedicated and innovative problem solver.Core Principals & BehaviorsOUR CORE PRINCIPALS: Safety.Integrity.Respect.Teamwork.Diversity & Inclusion.OUR STRATEGIC PRIORITIES: Customer Focus.Operational Excellence.High-Performance Culture.Innovation.Financial Strength.OUR BEHAVIORS: Own it.Act with urgency.Foster a customer-first mindset.Think big and execute.Lead by example.Drive continuous improvement.Learn and seek development.Equal Opportunity EmployerWe promote equal opportunities for all with respect to hiring, terms of employment, mobility, training, compensation, and occupational health, without discrimination as to age, race, color, religion, creed, sex, pregnancy status (including childbirth, breastfeeding, or related medical conditions), marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity / expression (including transgender status or sexual stereotypes), genetic information, citizenship status, national origin, protected veteran status, political affiliation, or disability.#J-*****-Ljbffr
