Cabling Infrastructure Technician

AWS Infrastructure Services designs, delivers, and operates AWS global infrastructure that powers the cloud. Job Overview Infrastructure Delivery Installation Technician will drive network stability and sustainability while developing automated scaling solutions. Core Responsibilities Maintain safety and security standards during all work activities Follow established installation procedures Operate material handling tools and equipment safely Install fiber and copper cabling between equipment Complete equipment patching Travel between data center sites (personal transportation required) Lead site teams and assign tasks Train new team members Provide constructive feedback Drive project completion within deadlines Provide direction to small teams and vendors Act as a key point of contact (POC) across departments to support organizational goals Physical Requirements Lifting/Moving: Individual lift/pull up to 40 pounds; participate in team lifts for items over 40 pounds Mobility: Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours daily); bend, stretch, and reach regularly; climb ladders and stairs safely; navigate gangways without restriction Environmental Conditions: Work in confined spaces; work at heights; work in noisy environments Technical Operations Install fiber and copper cabling Complete equipment patching Leadership & Training Lead site teams and assign tasks Train new team members Provide constructive feedbackDrive project completion within deadlines About the Team AWS pioneered and leads cloud computing, powering businesses from startups to Global 500 companies. Basic Qualifications 1 years of computer networking experience 1 years of Linux operating systems experience Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field Experience in computer networking Experience working with Linux operating systems Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair Preferred Qualifications Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment) Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
