OverviewWe create smart innovations to meet the mobility challenges of today and tomorrow.We design and manufacture a complete range of transportation systems, from high-speed trains to electric buses and driverless trains, as well as infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility solutions.Joining us means joining a truly global community of more than ***** people dedicated to solving real-world mobility challenges and achieving international projects with sustainable local impact.Aerodynamic and thermal-fluid-dynamic (AeroX) EngineerThe AeroX Engineers participate in project / tender development through the application of engineering instructions, guidelines and established internal processes of the AeroX domain.They undertake Standard Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations within the frame of the projects using standard tools (STAR-CCM+, STAR, TransTun).In the expertise field, they undertake experimental activities on mock-up (wind tunnel, ...) or on train.They develop advanced simulations methodologies requiring Train System approach covering large domains as Fluid Dynamics, Thermal, Fluid-structure interaction, aero-acoustics, numerical coupling.They undertake R&D activities and contribute to the development of the discipline.Position in the OrganisationOrganisation ReportingHierarchial : Expert leader for AeroX engineersFunctional : AeroXCCN leaderNetwork & Links :AeroX Core Competence NetworkLink with other experts, Acoustic, Thermal, Comfort, Structural & Railway Dynamics, etcMain ResponsibilitiesPerformance Measurement / KPI'sQuality of work, On-time Delivery and Costs management, team workResponsibilitiesPerform Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analyses in design phase using Alstom toolsPredict Aerodynamic performance (Resistance to Motion, Pressure head pulse, Pressure waves, Crosswind response, etc...) using standard CFD methodologies defined by AeroX LeaderPredict Aero-thermal and internal aerodynamics performance (Cooling, Heating, Ventilation, ducts pressure drop, climate control in drivers cabin and passenger compartment, etc...)Specify aerodynamics requirements at train and sub systems levelsPrepare the documentation needed by the offers and projects related to aerodynamic performancesPrepare, organize, participate and analyse testing on wind tunnel or on the train itself to measure performancesLiaise with AeroX engineers in other Alstom sites to gather relevant experienceParticipate in R&D programs and work packagesDevelop creative and innovative solutionsMAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCESEducational RequirementsMechanical or Aeronautical Engineering degree Bsc / Msc, or equivalent.Experience5+ years of experience in R&D or Railways engineering department with both experimental and numerical skills.The candidate has managed technical project and small technical teamCompetencies & SkillsGood knowledge of at least one leading CFD package (STAR-CCM+, CFX, FLUENT, PowerFLOW, etc...)Good knowledge of general fluid mechanics, thermal management, and fluid structure interactionManagement skills to lead R&D actions with a transversal approachGood communication skills, pro-activity, team working, strategic visionEnglish conversational / writing / reading advanced level mandatoryItalian conversational / reading advanced level is preferredAn agile, inclusive and responsible culture is the foundation of our company where diverse people are offered excellent opportunities to grow, learn and advance their careers.We are committed to encouraging our employees to reach their full potential, while valuing and respecting them as individuals.Job Type : ExperiencedJob Segment : HVAC, Operations#J-*****-Ljbffr
